CBJ After Dumping Cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>Actually no, I can see that. I was more referring to having Marchenko and chinakov on the 4th line. I’d also switch Sillinger and Roslovic or Voracek and Johnson.
JG-Boone-Laine
Voracek - Sillinger - Bjorkstrand
Roslovic centering Marchenko, Chinakov or Johnson
Robinson - Karuly - Texier (was one of Columbus’s best lines last season) with Oliver being the extra forward.</div></div>
Sorry i jumped the gun. Ive been seeing a lot of people undervalue Boone this offseason so I just assumed he was the issue. I could see that for sure but I think it largely depends on Chinakhov and Marchenko's camp. I see them both surpassing Robinson at some point its just a matter of when. I also love the thought of having the russian wingers on the same line. From what I saw last season Chinakhuv as tons of potential to be a top 6 winger once he has a few seasons to adjust

CBJ After Dumping Cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dopplsan</b></div><div>Trades are a maybe...not sure NSH's F needs since they just signed Nino.
Bean could have some value; but, we likely aren't getting a 2nd, particularly if there is substance to the Team Canada allegations.
Unfortunately, we likely aren't going to re-coup value for Gus, if anything. A lot of teams are in a cap-crunch, and it's a buyer's market right now when it comes to teams flush with cap space who can take dumps (even if Gus is still a legitimately good player). Portzline tweeted that Jarmo has been moving like crazy to move cap, but the few teams with space are getting a lot of calls, and are basically waiting for teams to sweeten the pot.</div></div>
Yeah i struggled on deciding what the return would be in this scenario. The saving grace for the Nyquist trade is the the predators arent far from being a contender but like you said the current market is crazy. Also I completely forgot about the Nino signing when making this. The bean trade is tough too but assuming he wasnt involved i think we could definitely get a 2024 2nd. Obviously picks in the 2023 draft have a ton of trade value right now which is why i pushed it back a year

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>Not exactly the lines I see being run, but the most likely way to open up cap room.</div></div>
Im assuming youre referring to me having Boone as our #1 Center. I think this is the closest we get to recreating last season's "best line in hockey" (Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk). Obviously Gaudreau is gaudreau in that scenario, Boone fills in Tkachuks role as a physical, gritty forward with the ability to crash the net and not to mention win faceoffs, and Laine plays the sniper role

What Happens Now
I think CBJ says no but if it were me id ship him off for the bruins second and Min 3rd. I feel like people overlook how much of a liability he was last season for us. A lot of jackets fans (including myself at times) blamed our defensive woes on a young defensive core but Gavrikov had a pretty bad season and I think people are overlooking that because hes a fan favorite and seems to be a tremendous locker room guy.

CBJ w Tkachuk and Laine
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>benjgc</b></div><div>I think Ceulemans and Mateychuk are off-limits, at least for the moment. Bean would get traded before either; possibly Peeke or Boqvist, too. There's nothing more valuable than top talent on an ELC.</div></div>
I agree with Mateychuk to an extent. Ceulemans on the other hand I think gets edged out by Jiricek as they play very similar styles but Jiricek has a higher ceiling. Thats the only reason I think hes on the table.

CBJ w Tkachuk and Laine
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Weak offer. You have the prospects, try again</div></div>
My main focus to be honest was to find a way to make the Cap work. I think there are a lot of untouchables for the Jackets considering the retool could potentially still be in process. As stated in another response I think there are 3-5 prospects outside of the NHL that CBJ would even consider trading: Cuelemans, Pytthia, Mateychuk (Maybe), Voronkov (Maybe), Foudy (CGY likely says no). Anyone else and I think CBJ finds another way to make cap space for Laine.

CBJ w Tkachuk and Laine
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dk325</b></div><div>Yeah, this can't be looked at as a real offer. The Jackets would have to be offering their 2023 1st, Texier, Chinakhov and Ceulemans as a base IMO. Maybe Mateychuk instead of Ceulemans.</div></div>
My initial offer was based off of a tweet by Ryan Pike. He basically said that a first rounder, a good roster player, and a prospect would get the job done. I cant see Jarmo trading that first round pick this soon in the "retool" so I dont think thats on the table for CBJ. Jarmo's also been outspoken about his desire to keep Texier so I think he's also off the table. Bean has a lot of potential and is still quite young so personally I think he has more value than what we acquired him for (2nd round pick). Bjorkstrand and Nyquist need to be a part of this deal to make the cap work, and I personally dont see Voracek getting moved. Bemstrom is our last unsigned RFA outside of Laine so I honestly just threw him in because why not. I think the prospects at all on the table are Ceulemans, Pytthia, and maybe Mateychuk or Voronkov. Foudy could also be added to that list but I don't know how much value he adds.
