This is were it all comes down to personal opinion. I dont think Pesce is the BEST DFD in the league but he is definitely up there and definitely elite.

Kapanen and Kerfoot are both players who could absolutely THRIVE in Carolina.

Thats where im coming from

Hes not even close to being the best dfd in the league. He was a replacement level defenseman this year, the only think keeping him at that level was his offense.

Now would be the perfect time to buy low on pesce. Hes coming off a rough injury and a brutal season. Carolinas probably smart enough to not sell low on him but if they did decide to move him now would be the best time to buy

There is so much wrong with this trade.

1) Edmonton already has 3 goalies so McElhinney isn't needed.
2) Why would they take Horton's contract even if it is on LTIR.
3) Edmonton gives up Klefbom and Larsson, their 2 best defensemen and get what back in return? Gardiner, hahaha
4) Matt Martin why? So Edmonton takes another bad contract?
5) Edmonton trades away their 3rd best prospect dman in Jones without getting another young body back, sure.

How about the Leafs give up Rielly, Gardiner, Kapanen and Marner for Montoya, Benning, Sekera and Kassian.
