If you have a sub to The Athletic, <a href="https://theathletic.com/4110330/2023/01/21/nhl-trade-deadline-biggest-needs/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">this article</a> goes over each team's needs. Looks like Buffalo, Dallas, and Ottawa are the big ones. I'd love to get someone like Pinto for an Addison package but I don't see the Sens moving him at all.

Not sure about specific teams, but I imagine lots of teams would have interest in a young offensive RHD that can run your power play

Rumors Persist
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MNBassman</b></div><div>Would you consider a 1:1 with Addison and Boeser a fair deal?
I’m less concerned about the future of the Wild’s middle after reading the recent Athletic article about Rossi. Would I still prefer a center, absolutely, but taking a chance on Boeser (considering the price) might be a better way for the Wild to spend their assets…
All I know for sure is Boldy needs someone to play with!</div></div>
No, I think Addison has more value. From a pure point production standpoint he is very similar to Boeser this year and he'll probably cost $3M AAV at the most next season with more team control while Boeser is older, plays a less premium position, and has a much higher cap hit.
If we can make the money work I wouldn't mind adding Boeser, but I wouldn't be super happy about using Addison as the chip to get him unless there's something else coming back.

Think Vancouver would have to add a decent amount here (maybe a 2nd?), but it's an interesting base. Still would rather use those two to try and get some help down the middle though.

wdyt of these Horvat deals
It would be incredibly stupid to pay this for a rental we can't afford to extend. I like Horvat a lot, but I don't see us winning a cup making a move like this and that's the only way it'd be worth giving up this package.

As much as I'd love Horvat, he'd just be a rental unless we clear significant cap space this offseason. The more I think about it the more I'd prefer Dumba is moved for picks/prospects with an NHL defenseman coming back. That would allow us to either acquire a rental if Guerin is convinced this team deserves one, give us ammo to acquire a forward in the offseason, or just keep stocking up the prospect pool.

Dumba trade
The idea of Boeser and Boldy would be really intriguing and if the Canucks retained half of his contract we could definitely fit him in, but ultimately the assets are better used for upgrading at center. Steel and Gaudreau are fine players, but they definitely shouldn't be your two top 6 centers.

SIMONSELAARS3 Idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MNBassman</b></div><div>I agree. How big of a sweetener?</div></div>
I hope it wouldn't be more than a 3rd. The thing with Holloway is outside of 1 year with Wisconsin he hasn't ever really been an offensive dynamo but seems like he gets evaluated as one, at least by fans. I think he'll be a really good 3rd liner at his ceiling, sort of like Foligno was last season, but a lot of posts I see about him make it sound like he's a top 6 lock.

Interesting idea as a base. Puljujarvi for Greenway seems like a really even swap and they could both probably use a change in scenery. Oilers would essentially be trading Holloway for Dumba and I'd imagine that won't sit well with most Oilers fans. Think this would take a sweetener if Holloway is the target

You'd basically have to trade all these guys if you wanted to extend Schenn and Horvat anyways. Assuming what Russo wrote about Pettersson is true (I can't see why it wouldn't be), I'd rather target him instead.

I don't mind Hartman, especially at that cap hit. I think he's more suited for a center role than RW though and he's certainly not moving any of our current centers out. I do think he overperformed quite a bit last year though and will come back down to earth now. <strong>As for Weegar and Tanev, absolutely not available.</strong></div></div>
Completely agree. What I was trying to say is that (assuming Hartman returns to form) we need a 1C a lot more than another good RD and given that, we shouldn't settle for anything other than those two if the Flames want Hartman.

If we are looking to trade Hartman, Calgary could be a good fit. Not sure how I feel about Kylington though, he's somewhat more of the same of what we have and we need somebody who is a lot better in their own zone. Tanev or Weegar are better targets IMO but I wouldn't love moving Hartman for either given his cap hit and the year he had last year.

Dumba is very much available according to our beat writer. Based on the fact a trade hasn't been made, my guess is nobody is willing to offer what Guerin is looking for and Dumba is good enough to keep on the team if there aren't any takers (so Guerin won't lower his asking price). That's all speculation (aside from Dumba being available), of course.
