I'd do that for Dubois, but we'd have to move significant cap space to make it work and after this deal I don't know if we'd have the assets to do that.
Other problem is Dubois obviously wants to play in Montreal and I'm not sure I want to sign up for that headache in 2 years...

We have $20M in cap space next after year after this move, we can definitely afford Nylander on an $8-9M extension. Even if Zucc re-signed, I doubt it's much more than $3M.
I don't know if Fleury would waive either, but this was half for fun and half serious and to make this work we'd either have to include him or get the Leafs to retain half on Nylander and dump Goligoski.

Is This Enough for PLD
I love PLD the player, but want nothing to do with the guy. Everyone knows he wants to play in Montreal ASAP. He forced his way out of Columbus, he's about to force his way out of Winnipeg, who's to say he won't want to force his way out of Minnesota in a year or two? I think we're just setting ourselves up for a headache by trading for him, even if I do think he'd be perfect for us.
Value seems good, Winnipeg might not like taking on Zucc though.

Other Side of Cat to Mo-Town
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>They are dropping the last pick in the second round for one that is going to be higher next year and a 4th on top of it. And there are a couple contracts that could probably be moved on the Wild sides to make this a better situation for them with better depth.</div></div>
Addison straight up should be worth at least a 2nd, and even then I'd be disappointed if we don't get a late 1st. He's a good player, Dean just had no time for him for some stupid reason. I think we'll really regret trading him, assuming we do.
Sure there's a few cap moves we could make but when you have $14M in dead cap space you can't afford to have a $3M player who would likely be on our 4th line.

Connor blockbuster
I'd love Connor but there's too many pieces involved in that deal and if were going to move high picks and Rossi then we absolutely have to be getting a relatively young top line center coming back.

The whole point of trading Addison would be to shed cap. Even if we could take on Joseph, why are the Wild adding a pick here?

active draft day
I was super high on Rossi during his during his draft year, but the past year or so I've changed my mind: I don't think a player his size can succeed as an NHL center unless they're incredibly talented. Every excellent forward 5'9" or shorter is a winger. I'd hope with this type of package we could move up further, but I don't hate using Rossi as a trade chip

I like Hartman but calling him our 1C is disingenuous, Ek is clearly our best center. Hartman is at best a 2C on a legitimate contender anyways, but ideally he's your 3C. I agree that this trade doesn't make sense for us though, we can't take on Joseph's cap hit.

Getting more Center Prospects
I'd be a little surprised if we couldn't get at least a late 1st for Addison. He's a good player despite being in Dean's dog house.
I don't love owning only two picks in the first five rounds either.

Sure, but we all know Guerin isn't going to trade Foligno or Fleury. And again, there's no way the Sharks retain half for 8 years...

Even if the Sharks retained half on Hertl (they obviously wouldn't), we still couldn't be cap compliant with Hertl next season.

Kerfoot deal is interesting. He's a bit of an odd man out in Toronto right now but they might prefer to keep him as injury insurance since he is better than Steel as you mentioned.
Personally not really a big fan of adding AA. I just don't see this team as a contender despite their recent wins.

Greenway is having a really rough year but honestly I haven't been too big of a fan of his for a couple years now. He could definitely use a change in scenery. I'd hope for a 2nd but be OK with a 3rd personally.

Cap is very tight. This is exactly why we can't really afford players like Boeser at half retention, Duclair, etc... Rossi almost has to work out if this team is going to be competitive next year and we need bounce back years from Foligno and Hartman.

Yeah as fun as Kane would be to have, I don't see us acquiring him. Guerin doesn't want to move high picks for rentals and Kane will easily get a 1st if he's moved.

I don't see Washington or Toronto making those trades. Would be surprised if we got much more than a 3rd for Dumba based off of what Russo is reporting. Hartman <em>might</em> get you a 1st round pick considering his contract, but realistically probably only a 2nd at best.

Agree with the overall sentiment. I wouldn't be too upset if any of the guys in your first trade were moved. Foligno is the only one that gives me pause, but given his production this year he isn't worth what he's making.
Hot take: we should have sold high on Hartman last year. I would have also parted ways with Greenway long ago, his value is a fraction of what it was a season or two ago. Dumba likely leaving is also frustrating because in hindsight we could have just kept Tuch and exposed him to Vegas in the expansion draft.
I honestly wouldn't be too upset about moving Addison if it meant getting a good young center. Dean doesn't trust him, might as well sell him while he has value and get something we need in return.

Not good, but he's only 22. He won't ever be a shutdown guy so if that's what you're looking for he probably isn't the best fit.

Addison is rumored to potentially be on the block. I wouldn't love losing him, he's still really young and could be a stellar defenseman down the road, but sounds like the organization views him as expendable with Faber and Spacek in the system. I imagine he'll get something like $3M AAV on a 3ish year deal this summer, so he wouldn't be overly expensive.
