  2. 2023 1st round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
VAN opts for a 2:1 prospect swap, preferring something like Rossi-Ritchie over whoever they'd get at 11.

IMO, MN could add a small sweetener here if needed, but wanted to keep it cleaner at first pass.

Additional Details:
I'd prefer to move Goligoski, but I dont' think you can trade him without paying. Merrill I do think you can ship out via waivers or FC.

Yeah, I’d probably take Merrill for FC

Respectfully disagree with getting rid of Rossi to move up 10 spots, maybe 9. Russo said something about Minnesota moving up to like position 20 if Florida makes it to Stanley cup or something along those lines, so 9 spots ?

Yeah I think some team would, even if it's not ANA. He's an A+ locker room guy and serviceable enough for a bottom pair/7th D tweener. If nothing else, he can certainly help keep morale high wherever he is.

Yeah I think most Wild fans would agree with you. I realize it's a bit hot-takey, but I'm really bullish on Dvorsky. I wouldn't do this for someone like Danielson, as an example, but I would for Dvorsky.

Canucks would definitely take that imo. Has Rossi not worked out for MIN?

Realistically, it's still too early to say. He's ppg in the AHL and when he has come up to the NHL, they've stuck him in the bottom 6 with grinders. Most of the Wild fanbase would despise this trade, so I'm in the minority that would strongly consider it.

That's my problem with Dean Evason and Bill Guerin. We talked about this, but Rossi has never gotten a chance to prove himself with skill guys

I was super high on Rossi during his during his draft year, but the past year or so I've changed my mind: I don't think a player his size can succeed as an NHL center unless they're incredibly talented. Every excellent forward 5'9" or shorter is a winger. I'd hope with this type of package we could move up further, but I don't hate using Rossi as a trade chip

Yep, that’s the same as me. I still think he’s got a good likelihood to be a regular NHLer, but it’ll need to be at wing. And if that’s the case, then I’d rather parlay his value into a trade.

I’m high on Dvorsky myself, but I’m no expert and would be open to exploring other options. If we can do better than this trade, I’m game. Not married to this particular idea, but I do think we should be testing the waters.

I meant my “Ouch! 😆” comment on this one. I thought you were ripping on me for my ‘Nate Danileson’ ACGM.

BTW - Scott Wheeler of the Athletic agrees with you. I sent him the question: How much would it cost the Wild to move up to pick Danileson and he replied, “I wouldn't. If he's there, great. Not worth spending assets on a kid who probably tops out as a 2C. Take Cal Ritchie there and live with the cost analysis.”

Haha no definitely didn't mean it as a backhanded diss on your ACGM. Danielson is interesting to me too, I just don't know that he has enough pure upside for me to trade up for using Rossi + 21. But maybe if it was like 1st + 2nd(s) and/or Addison.

I'm really not that high on Rossi, but I'd be pretty selective about when I trade him. Can only deal the guy once, so I'd want to make sure I get it right. If he has a respectable year, his value would shoot back up by TDL or even next year's draft. Idk.
