I don't see Washington or Toronto making those trades. Would be surprised if we got much more than a 3rd for Dumba based off of what Russo is reporting. Hartman might get you a 1st round pick considering his contract, but realistically probably only a 2nd at best.

Leafs say yes. Hartman has term at a great cap hit.

With Hartman's contract I'd OK with giving up a 1st-- but don't think a prospect would need to be included- and if it is, someone other than Moldenhauer.

Was seeing a lot of comps to the Hagel trade last year, where he got 2 firsts, a prospect, and a roster player. I don't think Hartman is there, but this was my shot at a compromise

I though picking up Sam Steel was seen as a steal this year? Why waive him?

The last month or so he has been a non factor to say the least. Healthy scratch tonight following multiple demotions

Would you give up a 3rd or 4th and Knies for Hartman rather than a better pick?

    Absolutely not.

If Knies is to be included in any trade, it would be a package for a superstar. Hartman is nice mid6 option on a great contract. But Knies could be that by this spring potentially, if not next season, with long term control.

Totally understand and agree. I was just trying to understand from Leafs fans so a 1st wouldn't be given up. Maybe it's someone like Minten, Hirvonen or Voit and a 2nd. I feel Knies would be the only player completely off limits as he seems ready to jump in now and contribute next to the big 4 while cap is critical.

Hirvonen or Voit would be the most likely to package with a 2nd rnd pick.
Mintens value is slightly inflated as TOR doesn't have many C in the pipeline.
