Could surprise

Created by: PantsOffnJacket

Description
I see the wild as a dark horse for the playoffs, they really could surprise, but they have a rather glaring hole on LD with brodin out.
They fill that here, dump the cap of greenway, gather 2 young NHL players with lots of untapped potential. They even Retain thier 1st round pick this year while doing this.

Rossi is a high end AHL prospect, but I don't see him cracking the wilds top line(maybe not even top6?) Anytime soon. He's the cost to gain that top pairing LD and dump 3mil aav for 2 more seasons.
In sure wild fans will be upset about Rossi being mentioned and I apologize, things come with a cost though

there is no chance they trafe rossi, the qild might be the only team with worst center than colombus.

Eriksson Eki s basically a point/game this year and still improving and Hartman is a workhorse who also produces. I don't see a problem at center here at all?
And I thought someone might mention that point because it was said last 2 seasons, which is why foudy was included here.

Zero reason to mortgage the future for a player that won't help us win a cup. This team isn't a contender, with or without Gavrikov

Don't see any point in this. Gavrikov is a rental who is going to command 5+ on the open market so mini doesn't save any money which is what they need. Going forward what will be required is cheap assets who can help them remain competitive until the buyout penalties stop. Rossi is the exact type of player they need.

If they wanted to buy sure take a look at cost controlled players like bemstrom or foudy. Cheap options who can play a role. Obviously what's truly needed is a top 6 center, but those are next to impossible to acquire. Just need to draft and develop.

the main reason hartman is producing is because he is being carried by his wingers, kap and zucc. he has done the job last year, but they dont have a true 1c, and rossi is the only prospect they have with that potential. and foudy has not been impressing at all unfortunaly.

I think that's Abit unfair to Hartman, I see him in the same kind of light as Boone Jenner. They drive the line , do the ugly work, allow the high end talent to have room and work, all the while producing along side them.

Getting two young talented players and a 26yr old top pair dman sounds like hardly giving up the future of the team to me. But I get the excitement wild fans have for Rossi, I don't understand why he's not on the team this season if he's expected to be the next coming honestly. He clearly could be atleast on the 3rd line winger position.

Also, Contenders don't always win the cup.

I'd say Eriksson Ek is your top line center at this point and Hartman is a very solid 2C when healthy.

in some ways you are right. but neither are real 1c. the thing is E-Ek and hartman are very similar players too.
