Helping out Edmonton

Capfriendly has some AHLers on Edmonton's NHL roster.</div></div>
3.9 million on a 20 man roster, which clearly isn't a good solution.

No comment related to that trade proposal, but EDM sure need more cap space. Right now they have 3.4 millions available and Bouchard to sign.

Hof players
I don't see Panarin, Tavares, Backstrom, Giroux, Wheeler, Giordano, Bobrovsky, Duchene, Seguin, Rielly, Huberdeau, Stone, O'Reilly entering HOF.
Also a lot of the guys I didn't mention would be very borderline (Malkin, Marchand, Letang)

Habs are not retaining plus taking the cap dump for an undersized meh prospect. Tampa would have to give more than that.

Brodie carries a bigger contract PLUS you retain 50% on Petry.

You have 2m3 cap space now and Sorokin is just 1m25 more than Varly :p

So you have the cap space to take Sorokin, but you go with Varly?? That is a strange decision.

You'd need to give more up for Henrique + retention IMO but, I think he'd be a good fit in Boston and I haven't really seen people suggest him before, congrats for thinking outside the box!</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Backlund would also cost more. Taking on Forbort coats assets and Poitras is a B prospect</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CarlssonSzn</b></div><div>Ducks say no. 50% retained on henrique takes more than a fourth. Forbort blocks the LDs Ducks are trying to develop.</div></div>
Thanks for your comments. I'm not a bruins fan so I don't really know about their prospect depht chart. I think Lysell might be the only prospect they would not offer for a rental. Who else could bruins add to make a deal fair?
CarlssonSzn, from what I read on different ducks threads is that they were poor in defense and would benefit a stop gap for their young guys. I see Jackson Lacombe on a lot of ducks fans top 4, I mean the guy might be ready for NHL minutes but you really think he can handle a top 4 role immediately? Forbort is not an elite dman we all know that, but he got enough experience to play those minutes, and he can be a TDL selling option, and if not, he likely will walk in free agent market. You're probably right that the offer is too poor, but I think Forbort could fit with the ducks, take off pressure on young defensemen and let them enough time to developp, they can overtake Forbort when they'll be ready somehow during the year.

Breakout candidate for each team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tryger</b></div><div>He had 63 points over 73 games, that's .86, so a 14% increase and he's broken out?
I mean Anze Kopitar had 74 points over 82 games, that's .90, if he has a 10% increase, will he have broken out for the season?</div></div>
Difference is that, 74pts is not Kopitar's career high.
To me, for someone who score 60ish points 3 times already but couldn't go higher (PLD), if he reaches 82+ pts that would put him 20pts ahead his personnal best and it would be a very noticeable progress.
I have a Max Domi comparable. Domi's best season was 52pts in ARI before being a habs where he score 72pts at his first season. Medias were talking of a breakout season in his case.

Breakout candidate for each team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tryger</b></div><div>I think you are missing the point of my comment, this is a discussion about breakout players, not the value of a player. I mean even if PLD put up 35 goals, an 8-goal difference isn't a breakout.
Vilardi went from a career-high 10 goals to 23, that's typically what a breakout means (to me anyways).</div></div>
In my opinion if PLD reaches ppg it could look like a breakout since he showed he's a 60ish pts player up to now.

Unless you think 8m5 $$/year is great value for a 27goal scorer, he must have to improve his numbers to be worth this signature.
