I like Lindholm but i'm not crazy about him at 9+ mil. But you're right, the cap is going up. Would be nice to get him at a little less than Aho as he's really put up only 1 season of that star level production. Don't doubt that he could do it again in Carolina, but 9.25 seems like a bit much for a 2C.

Fair reasonable value, but if the flames are trading Lindholm then I think they’d want a young centre with higher potential than Drury coming back

I’m guessing he would come in around closer to 8.5 aav

Teams with young higher potential centers aren't likely to trade for Lindholm. They would just play their young high potential center.

I see your point, but if a team decides they're in win now mode then it could make sense. And I didn't mean it had to be a roster player, a higher potential prospect was more what I meant. Would a package around Kotkaniemi be possible?

With your offer, the main issue is Teravainen being redundant on the Flames roster and he would be of little value to them

Kotkaniemi is probably more valuable than Lindholm. Young and cost controlled. Lindholm on $9m+ long term is high risk IMO.

I don't know if I agree, I mean best case scenario Kotkaniemi becomes what Lindy is now. I get your point though, Lindholm to Carolina would likely need to be primarily futures based and based on how the Flames operate that isn't what they'll be looking for. I guess there is risk because it would take him until 37, but he's really good and has a game that you'd think should age well. Although predicting which players will age well is almost a complete crapshoot

I love Lindy so much, I can’t comment on this because I’ve blinded by how well I think he’d fit as the 2C.

With Aho Lindy KK and Staal as the C depth for the next 3 years, that would be pretty awesome in my opinion

Even when that #2C has actually played the #1C role? I mean...Tavarez, Draisaitl, Malkin...I get that's not Lindholm, but you DO need to have and pay a #2C.

Lindholm isn’t in that level of players so that doesn’t justify paying Lindholm 1C money even though he is a 2c when not surrounded by 2 100 point wingers

Not so sure about that in the long run. If we get someone like Lindholm to be our 2c, would KK as our 3C be such a bad thing? Oh, yeah LOL.
