Robertson over Gregor for sure. And on the 3rd line with JT. Keep that Dewar Kampf Jarnkrok line together. They are quite good.

A lot of the struggles so far fall on the coaching staff and not putting the right players in the right positions to succeed. Recognizing the players strengths and coaching to those versus trying to fix their weaknesses.

Forechecking 3rd Line
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Jarnkrok....6th in Leafs points among forwards, 6th in Leafs goal scoring among forwards. 5th in plus minus among forwards. Don't know how his numbers make him a low 3rd or high 4th liner guy, except for maybe his salary.</div></div>
Rankings are against other forwards with 500+ min, 5v5.
He was 187th in expected goals (8th on Tor)
178th in Corsi % (7th on Tor)
196th in on-ice expected goal against per 60 (7th on Tor)
273rd in on-ice expected high-danger shots against per 60 (11th on Tor)
178th in created xgoals (7th on Tor)
He mostly played with Tavares, Matthews, Marner, Engvall, and Kampf
With the top line guys he was good but guys like Bunting and Kerfoot were better. With Engvall and Kampf, Jarnkrok was bad.
Now, it is possible he is just better with more responsibility but it is more likely he is a product of great linemates than causing their betterment (by a statistical margin).
Edit: He doesn't play in the dirty areas, which can be seen as vanilla.

I was going to have the exact opposite comment. I don't think Jarnkrok is any good and not worth a 3rd.
Is his play better than his numbers? He seems like a low 3rd, high 4th line guy.

I literally laughed out loud at this quote.
I'm still shaking my head that Dubas protected Kerfoot and Holl over McCann.
We could've had a 40 goal scorer on our team on this playoff run!

I like this ACGM, I think that's the kind of backend we need.
On Kyper and Bourne, Treliving mentioned he wants to structure the Leafs in a way where they can get in front of the other teams net and keep the other team away from the front of our net.
I think that's something we were missing under Dubas.
Now that Holl is out of the lineup, I think we might be able to make that happen.

It's in the range. I personally wouldn't do it do it if I was the GM, but it seems fair value.

So basically if history is any indication...the Hawks are PAYING for Murray which will never happen. Pick #11 was #27, #34, #45. For #12...#19 and a late 2nd should do it. If you want to include Murray...probably the 19th and a potentially a 4th or 5th rounder

As a Hawks fan...I think they have to take this deal. I like Murphy, but the Hawks have too many D prospects that need NHL ice time. Ian Mitchell and Alec Regula need permanent NHL roster spots.

The value for Meier is actually pretty good, 2 B prospects and 2 firsts, but I see the Sharks prioritizing acquiring more 2023 firsts instead of future ones. They'd probably take another offer because of that

New Third Line
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RipNasty</b></div><div>You have to look at how he gets those points though, he doesn't do it off the cycle much. He scores his points off rushes and generally spends more time in his own zone than the offensive zone. His lack of defensive awareness won't work in TO. Garland is a better offensive but worse defensive version of Kerfoot but can't play centre. Garland is without a doubt overrated.</div></div>
You clearly haven't watched Garland play. Here are all of Garland's goals from last season: https://youtu.be/hC56sSMxvNU
14 of them were in the cycle, and the other 5 were breakaways or 2-on-1s, rush goals.
Most of his points this season (21 of 27) have come 5v5 because Vancouver's PP1 is so stacked already, Garland gets limited PP2 time. He'd be a bigger scoring threat if he was given Top-6 minutes, but given the Canucks stacked forward group, he's been 3rd line most of this season.
As for Garland being bad defensively or having a lack of awareness, that is absolutely not true. Garland is the 2nd best defensive forward at 5v5 on the team next to Pettersson, better than Mikheyev and Horvat pre-trade. His advanced stats are all glowing on a Canucks team that boasts one of the worst advanced stats groups of the past decade.
Canucks are not going to have to retain on Garland and I'd much rather that they keep him since Horvat is already gone and Boeser is the more likely candidate to be traded.

Meier
Kerfoot and Villeneuve aren't Alex Tuch, and Robertson and the third aren't Peyton Krebs, but that's still almost as much for one year of Timo Meier plus negotiating rights as Las Vegas paid for five seasons of Jack Eichel, especially if the second elevates. Do you really think that Toronto needs Meier that much?
