I agree. As a leaf fan vancover is losing this trade. The leafs need to atleast add matthews (50% retained). At least.

JT to the leafs
I get what you are trying to do. But I don't think adding many prospects would make sense for the leafs to even consider.
The value needs to be high (like really high). I don't think the leafs consider trading sandin (literally sets them back 3 to go forward 4) and robertson (nor do they have to - just add more picks and he gets injured alot. To high risk of a prospect).
I also don't think Niemelä is such low value to even consider throwing in this trade. He is great but considering the overall value you need - it's like 5% (basically a third at this point).
Leafs would have to give up;
1st, 2 2nds and a third. Amirov (which is a good value and suck to see him gone).
If it is anything more than that - dubas leaves. And I don't even think vancover retains. This is easily a 3 way trade.

He can play centre but.. I would say he is best if you have someone else on the line that can take faceoffs. Have rotating strong side and you will have a good solid 1b 2a c

No they won't trade for someone worse than ceci. Ceci is fine but it is just his contract. The leafs will be putting him on IR soon. So this trade doesn't make sense for the leafs lol

Ye replace the trade partner with the knights or someone else. Maybe oilers? There are plenty of teams who would be after barrie. And he requested it back in november. I think it would be a good idea to trade him if it leads to them getting someone better like dumba. Someone with term.

I agree with this redraft. Great picks. Only thing I would say as a leaf fan maybe move down lilly a bit but at that point it just nit picking. No one knows who these players will become. Need to give them another 3-5 years.

Kap - Georgiev
Ye. Kappy isn't going anywhere. Leafs hang up the phone. That would ruin the locker room. Kappy and nylander (yes nylander - the guy who is apart of the core of the team) are best friends. So out of the two i'd trade mango.
Honestly I think san jose should be none stop calling nyr for a goalie right now more than the leafs. We will see what happens.

Playoffs Playoffsss I just wanna win a game
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>newballcoach</b></div><div>THIS! Is Kreider really that much better then Johnsson right now? His impact is almost all offence, how big of an improvement is he going to make on this team? He would be what, the 6th best offensive player on the team? Why worry about adding that guy?
Sure Georgiev is helpful, but like I said yesterday, if NYR was willing to part with him right now, Toronto would likely already have him, as their trade matchup makes too much sense. I think they will wait until the draft to try and leverage more out of him.</div></div>
Georgiev is the main attraction. He would be a great peace to replace freddy when he starts to cost to much or maybe slump? Never know.
I look at johnsson and think he is worth more than a first round pick. Maybe a first and a second/third? And Georgiev I look at as worth a first rounder. Kreider is worth maybe worth a first rounder? But who knows since you are literally just getting a rental. I think if the leafs do decide to go for Georgiev you need to get kreider too since you are going to be losing someone important to your lineup. Don't want to cut on strengths for the playoff run/to get too the playoffs.
Now for defenseman idk what we trade for that. Time will tell. Josh manson? But why would anaheim give up on him.

Selling at the deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>Martinez is left-handed, but he has played most of his career on the right side. His ability to pay both sides is one of the main reasons why he is desirable asset.
Additionally, he has significant experience playing with Muzzin. The two were a quality pairing in LA for years, anchoring the Kings to multiple Jennings trophies in front of Quick. They would be a quality second pairing in Toronto, a team that is notoriously suspect in their own zone.</div></div>
Understandable. Issue is the term. Then we wouldn't be able to resign Muzzin and I'd rather have Muzzin than him personally. Even if they did the trade and he didn't have the term.. Robertson SDA and a pick is wayyy to much. Robertson firstly is a high cost factor but more than likely a none option when comes to trading since he has a really high upside and is really young. So not tradeable imo. SDA is the same.. when people generally trade futures they are trading away AHL prospects who are about to come up not OHL or other leagues really.
I can see the benefit of Martinez to Toronto, but not for Robertson+. A 2nd and Der-Arguchintsev though?

Btw title is a joke and the trades for the players ofc are just for conversation. We never know what the real deal will be or the mindset of the GM's. For all we know leafs might just trade for the goalie and chill out.

Selling at the deadline
I'm a diehard leaf fan but that's because I am from toronto. LA are my third fave team in the league to watch and rotate between second and third all the time with VGK.
I really don't think Martinez is right for toronto. More so the left side is going to be already full of really good players. The issue is more so on the right side in the future. This team isn't a team to think now and we will figure it out later. Martinez to oilers or maybe canucks (stretch to me there)..
Tampa doesn't do that trade and doesn't make much sense for them to do it.

My Dream Leafs Player
Leafs say no. You are basically getting the play for one year then have to trade him away for lower value because you can't resign him. Domi is going to command more than the leafs can afford. This isn't a team that thinks about just the now and shouldn't.

Leafs say no unless you retain more than that. Talking straight 50% and take out the goalie. Hutch is basically the same thing. La can't score their systems are for defense and that goalie is a .900 goalie with that. Imagine with the leafs? lol cya

Weber to Leafs if Canadiens become sellers
If I am mtrl why am I trading him?
And if I am the leafs why am I taking a contract that costs that much for that term...
Don't get me wrong, weber is great. But it makes more sense for the habs to keep him to guide the young kids and provide them a level of guidance. Destroying your team to nothing is never a good idea. Look at buffalo. They literally traded away players that were doing good just to get picks then set themselves back further than they thought.
And I am not sure if petry is able to take that role as a #1 rd yet.. you will see his flaws more so like you did in edm.
tl;dr: As a leaf fan I'll only take this trade if they remove a pick and retained 40%-50%. Not because I think it is a good idea for either side but because I like chaos.

1) Why does halak sign that? lol Hes going to want to cash out for more.
2) Why do the leafs do that trade with wpg? That's way to much for low return.
3) Mikheyev and Engvall would get the same if not similar contracts. Both sub 2m's imo for a short term.
4) Why do I waste my time on this forms lol

NYR Deadline trade
I do not see the rangers giving up Deangelo. But the goalie I can see forsure. They have alot in the pipeline. Giving up that level of skill in dee will hinder them more than be a positive. Sure right now you could say Deangelo + Georgiev for Kappy, Bracco, ceci and a third. Or whatever. but I don't see them trading away him at all.
So rangers decline but I also don't think leafs want to part ways with a first rounder. We have to many prospects to trade that are well developed that could be ready next year. Rangers would be more interested in that.
Interesting thing to bring up though.

Devils deal
Ye, he is not throwing away a player that could fit right into the lineup right away in bracco for nothing really. Looking at this Bracco is a A prospect and that isn't just flexing him. If you watch the way he position himselves he could play in the NHL this year but Babs said no and we have to much depth. I'd rather trade him for a future. This team shouldn't think about dumping their prospect pool yet.
