Detroit 2022
Calgary trade is a no from Flames.
Erne is an Yzerman guy. He drafted in Tampa, traded for him when he took over as GM in Detroit.
Columbus could have claimed him twice when he was placed on waivers.
Ladd has two years left so a 1stand some low picks might get it done, but asking for a 2nd round pick who has played well at U of Denver is a no go. Islanders should expect to pay and not get much back in return for Ladd.
Over all Yzerman has started the rebuild the right way and is slowing stock piling thr prospects and figuring out what he wants to keep and what he does not want to keep.

I like the value on the Edmonton trade, I did pretty much this exact same thing a day or two ago. Could maybe throw in koskinen to have a veteran backup to help push lankinen. Also keeps the money more even for Edmonton, might be able to gain a better pick than the sixth if so.
I think that's a good return for Columbus considering he is technically a rental.

Not a corpse, scored at a 30 goal, 66 point pace last year while mostly centered by Johan Larsson.. your point remains that he isn't fetching that large of a return but he's not a corpse and with only 1 year left he's not a long term investment.
Kuemper is one of the 7 best goalies in the league, if you're EDM adding him might be worth one of your top 3 prospects, I think you could say the same of Pittsburgh. Idk just a thought.

Too little of a contract for Sorokin (will get around $3.5M) and Cizikas (my guess around 2.5M if he signs with Isles).

Lou is overrated for sure, but the Islanders deserved to be in the ECF the past two years. The players earned it. Having two Norris caliber defenseman and clutch playoff performers like beau/pageau/nelson have helped.
The 4th line should not be untouchable, neither should Bailey. spending 7-8 mill on the 4th line with a flat cap is not a good idea. Also Bellows will not be a regular, Trotz clearly has no interest in playing him. He'll either go to Seattle or be included in a trade to dump a contract

Kevyn Adams messed that trade up.</div></div>
Actually I think it was all the soccer guys doing getting Hall here and signed. At the time Krueger had stoke with the Pegulas and Kim Pegula was taking a huge amount of criticism on social media. Krueger is the only reason Hall signed here plus the other 8mil reasons lol. I think Boston was said to have offered him less. But you're right in that Adam's was getting OTJ training and he failed as to what signings he made. Hopefully Karamonos helps in those departments but again time will tell. If Adam's fails in the trades of Eichel and Reinhart he will probably be replaced sooner then later.
If they hire Granato as coach that will be another rookie coach will fail. He didn't do much better then Krueger considering Krueger had a 18 gm losing streak both coached 28 gms Granato .375 Krueger .286 (including that 18 gm losing streak) but he'll come cheap, Sabres don't improve and they draft 1or 2 again...lol

Agree they have to be careful but should be fine. They’ll likely move on from Marty mcginn and Foegs (at least 2 of the 3).
They’ll either LTIR Gardiner or find a team to dump him with assets so that’ll free up some money.
If Dougie doesn’t find a much more compelling offer I could see him coming back at 7x7.5ish potentially.
Necas will get a bridge deal at slightly less than Svech and Troch will be due a slight pay raise (low 5s I’d guess).
Nino is probably gone - he’s a good player but they can use the savings from him elsewhere.
Staal will also come off the books around the time Aho and crew need new deals - could see them trying to keep him but it would be at a heavy discount at that point which he may do since he’s made a ton of money in his career so far.

But even if that happens they still lose Graves so why not leave Jost, Nichushskin and Landeskog (Because he's a UFA) unprotected and keep Graves around?</div></div>
Because Graves isn’t that special, there is a built in replacement upgrade of Byram on the roster, and the Avs would much rather lose a $3M contract getting the cap space than zero in the case of Jost who is blossoming as a 3C, and $2M in Nichushkin who is his running mate and metrics monster.

We Are a Team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Theo_nollaf</b></div><div>I loved this ACGM. It was very realistic and didn't try to sign Dougie Hamilton. One question I have is why did you protect Couture? He's good now but he's getting payed 8 mil until he's 38 and he's already showing a bit of regression. Because of this, I don't think Seattle will take him and you can save Donato for free if you leave Couture unprotected. Do you think this will happen or am I wrong about Couture's impact on the team?</div></div>
I think the optics of Wilson leaving his captain unprotected after signing him for so long just looks really bad. I think Seattle would hardly consider 48 mil more for Couture, but it looks so bad for DW to do it.

Lets Negotiate my Lunacy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Theo_nollaf</b></div><div>Have to agree that it sucks when someone drops into your ACGM that you worked really hard on just to say someone declines, that being said, for the Jarry trade, I do think that Pittsburgh needs to add more. I'm not familiar with Pittsburgh's prospects but I do think they should add a high-end one or maybe a second and/or third? Arizona was watching the playoffs and they know that Jarry is not as good as Kuemper. Also just wanted to say that I love the fit of McCann in Minnesota and it's something I considered when doing an ACGM on Minnesota but couldn't figure out the specifics.</div></div>
I appreciate the response. I think McCann is a good fit for MIN. He's shown in PIT that he can step in into the 2nd C role when needed, be effective at wing when needed and be a very good 3C. Foligno is probably a bit overpaid for his role/position although I know he's played in the top six for MIN at times, but he fits a specific mold that Hextall is looking for.
As far as Jarry goes, I personally think he's a good goalie. He's not old, he's not young, but this was his first full NHL season as a starter, so there's definitely a learning curve. That said, the Pens don't really have the luxury of time for the learning curve given the window for Sid and Geno maybe has one more year if that window isn't closed already.
I could see adding to the deal, but from my perspective is that AZ gets a younger goalie with some possible potential at a decent cap hit for one more year passed Kuemper without losing Kuemper for nothing. I'm not sure I'd add a high-end prospect, not that we really have any, but I'd add a mid-range prospect if that got it done.

Eichel to the Ducks not for Zegras
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Theo_nollaf</b></div><div>I really like the trades but I'm still somewhat confused on the point of this ACGM. Is it to rebuild the Sabres? Because if so I don't see the point in signing all these players but If it's to make this team competitive, I still don't think it's a contender. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but not contender status. I think you did a really good job of overpaying free agents to get them to come to Buffalo (maybe except for Hyman), but I don't think that Dahlin or Comtois take those contracts fro more than a year or two.</div></div>
Thank you. My goal here was to make them competitive and hopefully get some playoff experience. Comtiois only had 1 good year. I could see them doing a 2 year deal on that price instead of 3. I did overpay the Fa's because it was obviously needed. The D in particular is a lot more complete with this roster. I think we could get Hyman. He's not a lock in Toronto like everyone expects. If I had to fork over an extra mill, so be it.

Boston 2022
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>Ya I look at more than one year of stats though.</div></div>
1st off, Wings have no Center depth ready for the NHL, so a goalie who is unproven does, if good, fills one hole and opens another. Two, Larkin has a neck injury nit a head injury. 3rd, Larkin is better suited for #2 center work and i agree he is no Eichel. He is a hometown kid, a draw and is a very good player on a team which lacks good players. This team under Yzerman is turning around and it will take time.
As far as Mantha, was he part of the future, he was, but I think he fell out of favor with his lack of hustle and not showing up all the time. Larkin, Bertuzzi, and Fabbri ae Yzerman's kind of players, work hard, do not take shift or periods off, and do the little things correct.
Is this a good deal for Wings, NO. Two players are ok prospects in Boston Organization, which is ranked rather low in team prospects per experts, Wings have what 5 picks in the 1st two rounds and adding another lower 1st is not going to cut it

I like that you included a goalie (as DET’s goaltender depth is non existent) and a prospect with Michigan ties. And yes, Larkin had a poor year, but I don’t think a goalie with success only at the AHL level, a prospect that was invisible at WJC and seems to not have grown all that much in his second year at Michigan, a late 1st rounder in a draft full of uncertainties and a 3rd are enough to pry Larkin away. Especially considering our Center depth.

Larkin isn't available for anything that anyone should be willing to pay. Basically think about an offer that would be insanely favoring the Wings, to where your GM should be fired if they made it, then add 2 1st round picks and that's the price.
