Lias Anderson is nearly ppg in Laval, doesn't mean I'd trade Pod for him.
Van isn't down on Pod. He earned his way back to the Sr Canucks.
They wouldn't trade him for a LHD of Harris' profile, especially with D Petey coming soon. They'd just extend Cole for a season given his impact on the PK.
Harris is decent player but not the right fit imo.

Pay? Goodrow is a cap dump himself at this point and Chytil’s career is unfortunately very much in question. Not saying this deal would get it done by any means but NYR is definitely not “paying for a cap dump” in this situation.

If you're insinuating that Evans and a 2nd rd pick could be used to acquire a bigger fish, then yes, I agree; Go for the bigger fish.
Counter-argument: Neither Evans nor a 2nd rd pick really moves the needle to acquire bigger fish. So making "minor" improvements using those assets is exactly what you should be using them for.

Nicolas Roy would be a perfect addition for a 3rd or 4th line.
He brings that deep forecheck and cycle game that habs lack in their bottom 6. Evans is great defensively - but I rather have a player who spends more time in the Ozone keeping the puck deep.
A Armia -Roy- Newhook line could be great.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Black61</b></div><div>Ya not at that return. Hes 27 and hasnt hit 40 points till potentially this season. Not a 2c</div></div>
Not saying he's a 2C, but that he's still an improvement over Evans. and when it comes to depth players, points aren't the be all end all. Roy was instrumental for Vegas in their playoff runs with his physical play, and his ability to play anywhere in the lineup.
I really don't see why Habs wouldn't want to upgrade Evans for N.Roy... Very much a no brainer imo... N.Roy also plays the wing, so there's a ton of flexibilty too if MTL have other centers they want to use (Beck) or acquire (bring back Monahan?).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Burnout</b></div><div>Team's don't "turn a corner" by paying for bottom 6 guys. And Montreal has a lot of guys who can play center lower down in the lineup, they just need to get healthy. What Montreal actually needs is more guys who can play higher in the lineup.
There would likely be teams who would pay that for Roy, I just can't see Montreal doing that.</div></div>
Roy is better than Evans, and consistently plays in Vegas' top 6... so yeah N.Roy would be a great fit for MTL imo.

Crosby is 36 has one year left on his contract and you think he is worth more than a n#5 overall pick with Hutson and Suzuki ? 1 on 1 Suzuki is more valuable than Crosby because of age and contract. Removing Suzuki from that bundle and I think it could make sense.

Love Crosby anyone would love to have a super talent on their team. BUT Montreal is rebuilding and will probably seek young high end talent if they are so lucky. Sid the kid deserves all the props hopefully he retires a penguin. I think he's got a couple more years in him as his body has aged well.

Habs next season imo READ DESCRIPTION
No reason to buy out Dvorak. Newhook is a winger for the team long term (Beck 3C), so no reason to move Dvorak unless its for a late round pick at the TDL

Anaheim should then add 2024 1st, Gauthier and Warren

Zegras ain’t worth more than a bag of pucks and ****ing Condotta. Never would make this trade and sacrifice Guhle for a loser. He can stay in ANA.
