Prospect Targets for Jake
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jfkst1</b></div><div>I'd rather collect future 1sts. Re-tooling with this core is almost guaranteed to fail. Half these teams will be lottery teams unexpectedly in the future and their picks will be more valuable than the GM ever expected- if that GM is even still there.</div></div>
These guys are much more proven than a late first rounder, some being nhl ready next year. Makes no sense to take a chance on a pick when you can have much more proven first round talent

Question
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeyfan1234</b></div><div>What’s your point? They aren’t going to scratch Graves to insert Byram. And Pickering has the potential to be as good as Byram too. So why waste assets that we don’t have to bring in a guy that Sully may put on the 3rd pair</div></div>
Because pretty sure everyone would rather have byram on the first d pair over Joseph

Question
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JuanDamienNebraska</b></div><div>I’m high on Nedeljkovic. If you ask me, he’s the best goalie on the market right now, at a great cap hit. A few contenders will be vying for his services, and with added retention that would bring his cap hit below league minimum, im pretty confident that he can return a 2nd.
Yes, COL needs another goaltender, but with that said.. Byram will not be moved for Nedeljkovic. The only chance that they part ways with him is if it’s bringing them in a 2C.</div></div>
Yeah that makes sense. Maybe a 3 way with ducks to move Henrique there or something

Question
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffW</b></div><div>Dude, you're way off in the value dept.. I know you said they'd need to add more but the pens would have to add a centrepiece to this trade.
Ned could be had for minimum a 3rd max a 2nd.. Byram would cost you a 22year old nhl centrman with roughly the same potential and cost control
Ned is a UFA in 20 games that he'll maybe play 5 of</div></div>
You're def overvaluing byram, he's worth a late first now. Ned plus a second/third and a prospect would be about what he's worth. He's fallen off pretty good this year.

Question
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeyfan1234</b></div><div>The pens also have a surplus of LD with MP, Graves, POJ, Ludvig, Shea, Smith, Rathbone, and Pickering so it wouldn’t really make sense for the pens either</div></div>
All considerably worse than Byram besides pettersson

Buying out granlund is way cheaper pens would never retain on him unless it's less than 800k

His save percentage and goals saved above expected is pretty good considering how bad AZ was and has been. On a good team he could great starter

Cup team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Aebexz</b></div><div>Think everything is quite fair, you both undervalue and overvalue Schmaltz. Or at least overvalue Vejmelka who haven’t shown himself of a playoff starting goalie. Regarding Schmaltz he is not suited as a 3C but rather as a top line winger. Don’t sign Engvall and pay that money for a Teddy Blueger or Alex Kerfot instead for the 3C and bump Garland down to the 3rd line.</div></div>
Fair enough, I think schmaltz is someone who can fit anywhere in this lineup and pens would benefit most if he thrived in the 3C role. But if he's better with malkin or Sid then he should play with them

Granlunds not great anymore but he's not as bad as everyone is making him out to be I would consider adding a 3rd or something but someone will take him without having to sweeten it too much. This is also assuming jets blow it up

I'd do that for Keller also, this just solves two big needs in one trade. If we can find a good 3C and goalie in other moves I'm all in on getting keller

Dubas pick ups
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BURGHgirl</b></div><div>Hall, Grzelcyk and Garland are all overpriced, underperforming cap dumps. There are younger and cheaper options out there. Gibson is really expensive , has 4 years left and has demanded a trade. That's a HUGE gamble on someone who MIGHT regain his form. POJ, Poulin and a 3rd is an overpay. I'd only consider Gibson with 50% retained. Too much of a gamble otherwise (he also has trade protection and a NMC)</div></div>
Pgh is pretty obviously a place Gibson would wave for and I do think it is a bit of an overpay but I think it is also what Gibson will go for in this weak goalie market
