Description
Let me know what you guys think. I think cap problem can be easily solved however they want to dump a player. I think Gibson was checked out in Anaheim and could return to his old self in his home town competing for a cup

Hall, Grzelcyk and Garland are all overpriced, underperforming cap dumps. There are younger and cheaper options out there. Gibson is really expensive , has 4 years left and has demanded a trade. That's a HUGE gamble on someone who MIGHT regain his form. POJ, Poulin and a 3rd is an overpay. I'd only consider Gibson with 50% retained. Too much of a gamble otherwise (he also has trade protection and a NMC)

Pgh is pretty obviously a place Gibson would wave for and I do think it is a bit of an overpay but I think it is also what Gibson will go for in this weak goalie market

Not even close big fella

We are going to be at at least 70 million at the start of next year but nice try — didn’t get us to want to deal our starting goalie anyways

I have no doubt he'd waive for PGH. The NTC/NMC becomes an issue if he doesn't work out. Then you're stuck with 4 years of a $6.4m cap hit. Hextall left us with too many high priced duds as is

We're really not, so assuming we will retain salary to "help" reach the cap floor is the same as assuming we would do it out of the kindness of our hearts

TLDR it won't happen.

If he had actually demanded a trade, the news wouldn't have broken buried in a off-season trade article. Hea been the center of trade speculation since he singed that contract, it would be headline news IF it actually happened.

It's more pundits saying things hoping to be right so they can say they were "first"
