<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TopLineTom43</b></div><div>Comparing Korkaniemi to Barkov is a little much. He hasn’t really shown he’s going to be anything more than a poor mans COUTURIER. So from my point of view it’s like you wanting us to trade Forsberg for Erat (Danault). We all know how that ends major difference is we know Vrana is good. Also he scored 50 points 1 time in 8 years ? You’re stretching.

Korkaniemi is being glorified heavily by you. He’s not doing anything impressive to deserve the Barkov comparison. But hey man everyone is guilty of overrating their players. Mine at least has the stats to prove he’s worth way more</div></div>

One 47 point season on a team where he plays beside some of the best offensive players in the game are your stats? Pretty weak. I'm just pointing out that any team wouldn't trade a 26 year old center who got Selke votes last year for a 23 year old winger who is breaking out playing on a high octane offense. They are two very different styles of player, but in trade value the 50 point two way center over the 60 point winger.

I mean Martin Erat was like 13 years older then Forsberg, Danault is 3 years older then Vrana, not the best comparison.

Barkov is what I see Kotkaniemies ceiling being, think he will be more of a developed star, not every top 5 player pick is Mathews or Pettersson, and most stars do take time to actually develop into those players. Ryan Oreilly took a couple years, Bergeron took years, Marchand took years. Were living in a youth era but there will still be players that take time to get there. I think with Kotkaniemi, ceiling is Barkov, floor probably a Brayden Schenn.
