I mean foligno isn't available either. Guerin loves him & signed him to 3 years extension for a reason. 4 years if you include this year

Sounds like a move of some kind is on the horizon for next year. This is a safe and smart signing IMO. Leafs have an excess of LHD. Something's gotta give here.

They should make an <em> "Every undrafted KHL player must play first for TOR if they want to pursue a career in NHL."</em> rule soon.

Until they have those player at a cheaper price and can produce.
Now they can plan to trade Dermott because he will ask to much money for the leafs.

They would be a lot better if they could lose Subban and Schneider. That would give them more then enough space to add a good winger, good defenseman and a 1b goalie so they dont overwork blackwood.

I would love severson. Hes the perfect target IMO. If not him, Gudas or Murphy.
I still think they should completely rebuild their D core though

For New Jersey it really depends on if they cbo Subban or Schneider. We should get more for buying out bob
But otherwise I really hope this happens

Filling out the roster with no Muzzin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsfan416</b></div><div>A roster of Mathews, Taveres, Kerfoot, Spezza, Milky, Hyman, Johnsson, Engvall, Nylander, Maner, Kapanen, Barabanov, Rielly, Sandin, Muzzin, Holl, Anderson, Campbell, gives the Leafs 2.53 mil to fill out two D postions. Who are you adding?</div></div>
I see who is available and who wants to sign with the Leafs, if DeMelo is indeed interested in signing for that much, then i use the offseason cap overage allotment to find that extra mill and a bit in cap space with the best offer i can find etc. I dont move players just to move them and then fill out the cap space later.

ok, i sign Muzzin because he's the leafs best actual defender and try to flesh out things around him instead of replacing him with cheaper, lesser options

I meant to put one year but its still fine. Jost has proven nothing ever since his first season. Dude puts up 20 point seasons is that worth 3.4mil??? Jost plays with good players and would be a 30point player

How Does The General Hockey Community View Jack Johnson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HattrickKane88</b></div><div>“Marner is a borderline superstar who is worth his contract.” You are joking right? He’s the most vastly overpaid player in the game. Honestly, he’s just not built for the NHL. He’s small, weak & soft. He always gets knocked over & refuses to hit & fight. He doesn’t have the talent to make up for his poor physique. In a few seasons he’ll be out of the league. He gets carried by Auston Matthews & is only good at generating secondary assists, which is a worthless stat. The Leafs were better off giving that roster spot to Jeremy Bracco, could’ve saved them 11 million.</div></div>
Lmao nice trolling buddy. You're getting roasted in the capfriendly group chat. Marner is taller then kane and better defensively. This so called "toughness" that you think is a thing is pathetic. Marner has more hits, blocked shots and takeaways but go off kid.
19 out of 52 of marners assists were secondary. We get that youre trolling but you look like a clown. You literally talk about marner being too small, too weak and not built for the nhl. Then you go on to say he'll be out of the nhl in a few season. If you scroll up you can see your name is PatrickKaneIsGOAT. If someone smaller, less talented and weaker is the GOAT then someone more talented, stronger and bigger should be the goat. If kane is the GOAT but marner is better then kane isnt the goat so you should probably change your name. He'll probably retire this summer because he cant skate anyways. Hes always falling down, he never hits or plays defense. Now that he doesnt have panarin to carry him he should retire

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HattrickKane88</b></div><div>John Tavares is simply not an established NHL player. He failed to guide the Islanders to a single Stanley Cup title, he even struggled to get them consistently into the playoffs. He is not a winner, he can’t lead a team to glory as their number one player. He has no character, no leadership and no talent, he only finds success when carried by players better than him like Auston Matthews and Anders Lee. If Tavares is truly a successful and well respected player, he would’ve stayed with the team that drafted him and got them to victory. There is no way we can call Tavares a star. Patrick Kane is better than him.</div></div>
Not at all. Calling kane better then Tavares is like saying McDavid isnt the best player in the nhl or the US is better then Canada. Its just not true at all

Malkin didnt play with these guys much at all. The only reason kane is any good is because of panarin and Toews

We need to just accept that this guy is at the top in every category. Not only is he the best scorer, he’s also the greatest playmaker as he creates space with vision no one has ever seen before. He’s the best at stick handling, deking and dangling past opponents with highlight reel worthy skills. Everything he does is out of this world, there has simply never been a more brilliant player. There should be no more doubts that this guy is number one.</div></div>
Hes not going to see this and hes not going to **** you so you dont have to lie to yourself. As of right now hes not the best playmaker, he doesn't have the best vision and he doesnt have the best hands. If he did then he would have the best on ice results but guess what. He doesn't. Its unfortunate that you think this because hes not even a top 50 player to play in the nhl.

He played 1 season with matthews. His previous two years were even better. If hes the best player ever he should be able to score no matter what.
