And in making that comment what would you deal for Johnny. So many people on here trash talk and say thing like Flyer Fans aren't going to like that, but never reply with a respectful reasonable comment. If you don't like it, what would YOU do? You certainly can't tell me Philly wouldn't love to have a hometown product like him on their team, so what then?

Actually Dairy, Dube is a center and has been most of his hockey life. The only reason he is LW/RW on here is that what he has been playing this year because Mony and Back are the defacto centers with Ryan 3-4. Dube is a future top six and more than likely center. As for Domi a downgrade, paying on a line with Tkachuk and any top RW would be a monster line and a nightmare for other coaches with the scoring, grit and ability to draw more penalties than any line in the league.
As for Lindholm, I might agree as he could be a better center option. In the long run Backs is a true 3rd line 2 way center for the future. I have no problem keeping Dube at wing, but if you look at this line up there are multiple option for C and wing to move around.
Why so serious?

Flames retool
Gaudetster:
Although there are many rumors of Johnny's off ice issues, there are a few items I might, IMO, share to why Flame fans want a change, unfortunately also reasons why we wouldn't get a full haul like we could;
1. Not a leader, supposed to be the 'star' of the team, why has he never had a letter on his Jersey for anytime, not even a A
2. The whining, constantly throwing his hands, yelling at the refs up and complaining about being harrassed, watch a game and I guarantee you will notice it
3. Teams have figured out how to get under his skin, Kane has had similar issues in Chicago but much more of a professional and leader throughout it
4. Pool of talented young smallish players in the wings, we could stand to get picks or tougher bigger player with skill
I would get rid of Johnny for a package at the draft, and replace him with Hall, hometown boy, in a heartbeat! All in my own opinion of course

Habs and Kings trades
Price, better than Backlund (good two way center and fairly good contract), a B+ prospect and a 1st rounder? I do agree on the other notes provided F50 Marco about the limited no trade. I dont think Calgary trades Backs this year but was hard pressed to see what established played they might give up. Thanks for the respectful feedback!

Froliking to Detroit
Why is everyone so stuck on Czarnik here, you do see the 1st rounder and Bennett in this trade, no? If this is so incredibly horrible then why don't you respectfully suggest an alternative instead of pretending you are an actual GM, or so deeply knowledgable that you focus on the minor part of the deal, a throw in if you will. Mantha is a UFA after this year, and is going to get a raise, getting Bennett and 1st does not seem that far fetched for a potential rental that may go elsewhere at seasons end. Take it easy, have a drink or something and re-evaluate how important you really are.

Crazy ridiculous but hes going east in a couple yrs anyway
I do agree it was too much, but K and two firsts would not be out of the question, especially considering Gaudreau would sign for equal or slightly higher than Marner in today’s market which would send a pile of firsts in return in an offer sheet. Philly would be in the clouds to have a hometown boy come into the fold and a marketing gem. I do agree Johnny needs to prove himself inolayoffs, and honestly as a Flames/Bruins fan, he needs to show better leadership. I always ask why no letter in the sweater. But NJ, Boston and Philly would all bend over backwards to bring this guy back out east, and I am extremely confident that in his second to last year the Flames are going to trade him there for a boatload. All IMO of course.

An outside look of CGY line-up - am I far off
Clayton Keller just signed with Arizona for a cap hit of 7.15 over 8 years, 2 years into the NHL with points of 65 and 47 respectively, 24 PM and -21 last year. Granted on a much worse team than Calgary, these number wilt under Tkachuks:
2018 - 49 points, 61 PM, -1, top 10 in league for drawing penalties etc.
2019 - 77 points, 62 PM, +14, again agitator along with all of this.
The points are close but trending in opposite directions, and overall Tkachuk fills in so much more. There is no way he and his agent go for any long term contract under 8.5 considering Keller and others as comparison thus far. I have to admit that other than a few games and watching a bit of his junior games, I don't know enough about Keller to be totally competent here, but pretty sure you can't argue Tkachuk is much more valuable than Keller. I am trying to not be a homer but the numbers don't lie and he has to sign for more than this, I have to think by at the very least min. 500 G more on a short term, 1 mill more on a long term. Plus 8-9 mill in 5 years is going to be a huge bargain if the salary cap keeps trending up and players salaries follow along. IMO all told. Cheers,
D

Flippn Frolik Filing Chucky Filling Depth
Good point, was thinking more the natural right shot, hometown, Brodie UFA....I also saw the Brodie trade to moving an upcoming UFA and bringing in another D prospect with potential and upside, younger etc. I think Green would pair nicely with Valimaki next year and Andersson getting his shot to shine. Thanks for the repoly chucky!

Agreed, just working off some comments on TSN and other chatting about St Louis looking at moving a D. I would be pretty much on the fence changing Ruzicka for Tuulola, both gritty power forwards, have seen Ruzicka play out East a few times, he looks like a force out there. Thanks for the respectful reply. Cheers,

9 mill Tkachuk
Just a minor thought, he doesn't have to be actually starting on ice at center to take faceoffs in crucial situations. Moving him to the wing as a right shout in certain situations, or due to injuries or lack of production from others is still an option. This creates two 'centers' on the ice as well depending on offensive, defensive situations or matchup strengths as well.

I like this trade, best Frolik one I have seen I a while. I am sure he gets moved but teams know the Flames are up against the cap so sure they are using that to low ball. Trading for a prospect RW at 22 yrs old doing well I college with maybe a mid round d 3 or 4th pick dependent on Fro resigning I think is very reasonable.
I just can't imagine the flames going over 9mill for Chucky though; although if they go shorter term they are going to have to pay way over 9 in a few years after a bridge.
It is getting stressful waiting to see what they end up doing to fit Chuck and Mangi signed up.I still have a feeling Brodie goes to Montreal, waiting for that one! Cheers

Zuck it up
To be honest I am not sold on getting Zucker. Yes I think a 2 or even 3rd would get this done maybe yes. However I would rather get draft picks for Frolik and get more time for young guns so we open up some $. Also in your scenario you still need a couple more players on the roster so that would pretty much eat up our cap space close to 0.
