Severson Deal Extension
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Severson has been our #1 dman in time on ice for last 5-6 years. So I have no idea where you are getting this from.
Marino isn't taking minutes from Severson...he is taking Subban's old role and probably stealing a few defensive situation minutes from Hamilton.
Severson is very good defensively...especially on the rush and on controlled d-zone exits.</div></div>
Was gonna write this, but would just add that Marino really isn’t a 3rd pairing D.
Getting Marino in just meant that Devils are gonna run one of the strongest RHD corps in the NHL for the year with Severson and remain as strong with Nemec drawing in for next season.
Apart from Calgary I cannot think of any team we’re Severson wouldn’t play on the second pairing.

New Top Line
Canes probably take that if Harkins will sign a min deal, and come in to create havoc on our 4th line. Be prepared to be roasted by Jets fans who don’t want another ‘small’ defender.

I agree with everything you said perfect compromise for the jets and get a second round pick and keep scheifele as he'd probably get traded for the Schneider return

Copp Deadline Trade Value
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Xqb15a</b></div><div>Kaut and a pick not a 2nd is where I would top out. You aren’t re-signing Copp so he’s a pure 3rd line rental. Helleson is a real asset, it’s one thing trading him for someone like Giroux or Miller. But hey that’s just me.</div></div>
Kaut is a bust and a 3rd round pick doesn't even get the conversation started. If the Avs don't want Copp that is fine but because he can be 50% retained to only carry a $1.8M caphit I think there will be a bidding war to add him as 50+ point jack of all trade forwards don't typically come with such a low hit.
Teams tight to the cap means less buyers but also greater competition for the few valuable players that can be fit.
Helleson is just finishing up his 3rd year of college and if you don't ink him this offseason he can go back for his 4th year and then go UFA. given the RD on the Avs roster and Barron in the prospect pool, it wouldn't be crazy for him to decide he could make NHL money somewhere else but will be stuck in the AHL for a while on the Avs. There is risk there as it not like he's under contract with the Avs like if he was playing in the CHL.

Copp Deadline Trade Value
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WheelDealHockey</b></div><div>Would Avs do this if its Helleson instead of Barron? If Jets are moving Copp its ideally for a RHD prospect.</div></div>
Personally I think Helleson and a mid pick is a fair ask. However, I think Colorado would ultimately decline. My guess would be they go as high as Ranta or Kaut and a 2nd but would walk away or turn their focus to Stastny if that doesn't get it done.

I think they do that. Getting the condition would be difficult they dont have a 1st this year and likely use next year's 1st in a bigger move like Giroux, Miller, Pavelski type deal . With Girard and Byram both injured they could use it on Chychurn possibly but who ever it is I think they go for a big move first and upgrading bottom 6 would be after that.

Big Changes
NYR fans aren’t gonna be happy… They don’t want to move Schneider
The Schneider, Boeser, Zadina, and Beecher trades are bad for the teams not WPG.
Schmidt, Beaulieu, and Stastny values are mostly good, but the teams are iffy
The Scheifele trade… FLA really likes Lundell, so I don’t see them moving him, and not sure it’s good value for Scheifele as I don’t know anything about Smilanic
