<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Just_A_Guess</b></div><div>"Insert a bunch of comments informing you that MTL's players are all cap dumps and not worth half of what you've proposed."

"The 1st doesn't even cover dumping Anderson"

"You got Petry and DeSmith for free, nobody is going to pay you their assets for those players."

"Some idiotic comment about a toilet seat logo"

Or something along these lines, I'm sure the trolls aren't very creative so the variations won't be much different than what I have above.</div></div>

Whether you agree with those assessments or not the fact is Montreal was essentially paid to take both Petry and DeSmith with Petry even having retention. They did so while also getting to jettison the Hoffman contract without any retention on it. This means that other teams likely weren't interested in taking the Petry and DeSmith contracts. So you believe that a week later those contracts will suddenly have positive value?

Anderson is another matter. He definitely has some value, but given his cap hit and history of missing a dozen games or so the past few years his value is not as high as many Habs fans believe. If it was with all the rumors swirling the past year I think he'd have been traded by now. I think Hughes values him more than other teams are currently. Also worth noting Buffalo has a very extensive analytics department, and my guess is they would see Anderson as a player with poor possession numbers for most of his career, even relative to his peers he's been below average in that regard both 5v5 and on the PP. He just doesn't fit how Buffalo plays.
