Well done. Those trades look good. I know it will never happen but Ericsson needs to be bought out!!!

He has a clause in his contract where he can hang with Mark Messier every Saturday afternoon for ice cream.

Should have asked for two second rounders. Next time!

I love that you needed to add a second rounder to even out the Faulk trade.
With some solid coaching, this team could avoid the draft lottery next year.

I wouldn't trade bertuzzi... That guy has all the makings of an Andrew shaw. Wings need more of these types of players. Also vatanen will command of 6m yearly.

A Different Detroit
I would argue that Rask and Nyquist have similar values given their age differences, offensive output, and positions played. Rask is a good centerman who had nearly 50 points as a 23 year old. Nothing to scoff at and we are quite low at the center position unless we sign one out of FA.
Also the CAR trade is also very much about trying to unload Jimmy's contract and then Lack just comes in is a bridge back-up for Mrazek. Many teams probably don't see Jimmy as a starting goalie worth his contract anymore so I am essentially adding some value so that CAR will take his contract. Foolish to think that someone will take Jimmy without additional value going their way. So yes we get a young two-way centerman with a high ceiling and a back-up goalie for a small undersized winger (which we have plenty of), a goalie we want to ship out, and two 3rd round picks. It's all about perspective.
As for the COL trade, Stuart is meant to be a salary dump our way and a verteran defenseman to be the 7th man rather than signing Quincey to take away more time from our kids.
I agree about Riggy being bought out, I doubt it will happen as well, but as I said in the post this was simply some trades to help get the discussions flowing.
@drummerdao please learn how LTIR works

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WingFanBT9</b></div><div><i>I like this. I think Calgary would take a bag of pucks before taking Ericsson... Nyquist is ok, but maybe a draft pick (or Smith) in there would sweeten it up for them.I think when Calgary signed Hamilton they were pretty hot on him, so giving him up would take a lot. If they said yes to this trade though, I would be 100% on board. Offense scares me a little being so young and lacking experience (which we know the wings love). Bringing Drew Miller back is something they shouldn't do. With the $1.5M from not signing Miller and the $5M you currently have in space, check free agency for one more sold winger. I see a lot of Centers here. I wouldn't complain if this was the team we had to start next season with.</i></div></div>
I totally see what you mean. IRL i wish we could find a way to dump Ericsson. and I think Nyquist has a high ceiling (hopefully this year will not be the norm). With the Miller signing I was trying to add some bottom 6 defense. He really is one of the best PKers and we know the Wings love the MI connection.
