Maybe New Jersey would use their own CBO on someone like Schneider? Then they're getting rid of two large contracts that they don't want instead of one. Just guessing...

Every team needs scratches. We'd have some tough road trips if all of a sudden a couple guys had the flu and couldn't play and there was no one to replace them.

I think the leafs need to leave cap space for 2-3 healthy scratches this year. They got "lucky" with the injuries this year so they could keep calling players up. I think next year will be different and they'll want to take a few guys with them on long road trips and whatnot.

I really like Eriksson Ek as a third line center, but haven't heard anything about the Wild wanting to give him up. Have you read any articles about it or is it more just wishful thinking on your part?

Yay positivity and humour!

I really like Engvall, so as a Leafs fan this kills me. But I definitely see how it could work, and I agree that the Leafs cap situation isn't as dire as some people make it out to be.
