I think the leafs need to leave cap space for 2-3 healthy scratches this year. They got "lucky" with the injuries this year so they could keep calling players up. I think next year will be different and they'll want to take a few guys with them on long road trips and whatnot.

I really like Eriksson Ek as a third line center, but haven't heard anything about the Wild wanting to give him up. Have you read any articles about it or is it more just wishful thinking on your part?

Every team needs scratches. We'd have some tough road trips if all of a sudden a couple guys had the flu and couldn't play and there was no one to replace them.

Mostly just wishful thinking, as well as having someone cheaper to replace Kerfoot.

Every team has used scratches. There’s a reason for that.

ANA has no need for Johnsson, they need that first 5000000000x more...

Leafs aren't going with 20 man. roster and no cap. Johnsson isn 't worth nearly cap. So many teams are near the cap, Johnsson trade value just might be 5th rounder...not his playing value but his trade value. A lot to give up for one year of Savard. Again I know every other teams have all these great RHD. Sandin or likely Liljegren are NHL ready for 1m each they play. Nik Robertson....doubt if he is NHL ready.

Too much for Savard, think Leaf fans might undervalue Kerfoot a bit, not getting a 1st for Johnsson and without a 1st that Wild trade doesn't happen.

Don't think you're getting a first for Johnsson in that first trade.....with the bad year he had and the injury his value down at best a 2nd maybe....also think you are light on what it would take for Brodin….not near enough....2nd trade is ok I guess...not a Savard fan though....also dunno about resigning Clifford...I know he brought grit and energy and all but by signing him we then have to give up a 2nd round pick instead of a 3rd for a guy that won't play much....with the cupboards getting bare would rather keep the higher pick....sign some other UFA

Maybe I could take Kerf and Johnsson for the 1st rounder. Omit the CBJ trade.

Wild pass and then just claim Bracco on waivers for free. They trade Brodin to another team for an actual offer and keep Ek since they need him.

Even if the Ducks win all of their remaining games, their 2020 first-round pick will be in the bottom 15.

Edit: Sorry, just noticed you were talking about the Boston pick. The most Anaheim would pay for Johnsson is a 2021 third. We have an excess of LW's right now, and need RD's desperately.

I don't even think they would claim Bracco on waivers.

Probably not, I was just pointing out even if he was right, there's zero reason to trade for a player you can get for free.
