Tampa Bay Lightning signed Brandon Hagel (8 Years / $6,500,000 AAV)
We all said the sample size was too small for Tage to sign an 8 year deal and look at it today. Today's reality is that you have so many advanced stats and analytics that you don't need 4 years of sample size anymore, I think he's worth his deal with what he brings to the team that covers all of his prime years.

Egomaniacs thinking they are smarter than the best team in hockey over the past 5+ years

$216,000 per goal
Who else is im that range?
Ppl acting like a 30 goal scorer is some fringe player 🤣

Tampa Bay Lightning signed Tanner Jeannot (2 Years / $2,665,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyScotty</b></div><div>Lots of hyperbole on this contract. It is a fair contract for a physical middle 6 winger that has 25 goal scoring upside. Dunk on the trade all you want but this contract is totally fair and is no way an "overpay".
It's not like he got an Anthony Mantha type deal here.
Mathieu Joseph got $2.95 mil from Ottawa last year
David Kampf got $2.4 million in Toronto
Morgan Geekie got $2 million from a cap-strapped Bruins team
Zemgus Girgensons got $2.5 million from Buffalo while Victor Oloffson got $4,750,000 last year for being a ~25 goal scorer
Daniel Sprong and Klim Kostin got $2 million each from Detroit
Kasperi Kapanen makes $3.2 million
Tanner Jeannot is a great value at $2.6 million under any circumstance compared to those players above.</div></div>
<strong>I agree with you that the AAV is not that bad. However, if I was a Bolts fan I would have wanted at least 3 years considering the price they paid to acquire him.</strong> I do think this player will rebound next year. His true potential is to be a Tom Wilson type player. Time will tell if he is more like Wilson or if he is more like Maroon or Deslauriers.

Why are they paying him as if he had a 19.4 shooting % last year too tho... seems a little crazy to pay someone as if they had a good year when they didn't. Should be sub 2m for sure.

Tampa declines. They will just waive Myers, and if he clears, eat the 250k cap hit before paying a 3rd to move him. For 250k in cap savings, the most that should be attached is a 6th. Jeannot is also considerably overpaid here, as he's worth much closer to 2 aav.

So...San Jose gives up a superstar defenseman for two cap dumps, an overpaid mid goalie, another goalie who they have no use for, a washed prospect, and some picks which will probably be mid to late? I don't really see how this makes sense.

There's no chance TB considers this. They are not spending 2.2 to backup Vasilevskiy. Especially at the cost of the limited minors assets they have.

Colton out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JTBF81</b></div><div>Broberg is a solid young dman, but that's a hefty acquisition cost for him. While I still don't believe Killorn is staying in Tampa, and the team will re-sign Colton instead, if he was traded then I'd consider going with the type of deal I've been discussing with different Pittsburgh fans on here. Tampa would get POJ+one of O'Connor/Nylander/Puustinen/Poehling for Colton+Fleury+possibly the '24 4th(depending on which secondary piece from Pittsburgh). It seems like a reasonable trade for both sides, and one where Tampa isn't giving up one of their better prospects and extra picks, in addition to Colton of course.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boltsradynasty</b></div><div>Colton is Broberg plus. 20.6 g/82pkaying 12:15 and a proven playoff performer ok tell yourself whatever you have to to justify this utter garbage.
Colton over the last 2 seasons 1.14 goals per 60
Playing with 3/4th liners compared to say
Tavares. 1.12
Kubalik .9
Marchand 1.16
Panerin 1.00
He may be the most underrated player on CF.</div></div>
I agree that colton is extremely underrated but I think him and broberg are worth the same, probably both worth around a 1st and a 3rd. I would rather just keep colton and try using other assets to acquire broberg who I think could have a ton of potential in our system

L</strong>
He trades a top 3 Sharks skater since his claim and now he’s going to be happy with just a 4th after flipping Namestnikov.
Eyssimont could be worth a 2nd after this playoff run with Tampa if he performs his game with this big name of a team.

Wait... that's it? So SJS, who is not making the playoffs, gave us a seemingly good 4th liner who is an RFA in exchange for a UFA who will never provide them any value and has a higher cap hit? Well... thanks I guess.
