Colton out

Created by: Jukinators
Team: 2023-24 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 25, 2023
Published: Jun. 25, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tampa moves on from colton and in doing so finds their next defensive project in broberg. Edmonton has made broberg available for trade and fits tampas needs almost perfectly. You can’t tell me Colton isn’t a perfect fit for Minnesota, he is fast, physical, young and ready for a bigger role. Colton also play his high school hockey in Minnesota playing for Edina. I just think this fit works for minnesotas win now team, they have a extra 2nd round pick. They sign colton around 3.5-4 mil for 3-4 years.

Accari I believe could get more on the open market. Maybe tampas no income tax could help lower that aav. Accari is the exact player type this fourth line needs. As of right now maroon is the only scrapper on that fourth line and accari brings that but also fills in for bellmare a penalty killing role next year.

Dell is more of a estimate, I can’t find a goalie that Tampa would definitely get. It’s more of a player type than dell himself

Goncalves makes the team out of camp. ABB is not what this team needs at the moment.

Meyers and seabrook get dumped to any team willing to aquire a couple of picks to get to the floor

A 7th and a 6th are not worth taking on a cap dump and another member of the LTIR.

I have been reliably told that a 2nd round pick is a “terrible offer” for Ross Colton and the only way he is moved, THE ONLY WAY, is if a young, cost controlled LHD is part of the trade.

Schmidt and Colton for Broberg allow me to quote John McEnroe "You can not be serious!"
Trades like this heaping 💩 get GMs fired.
Edit : and Chicago's 24 4th

The Wild have $8m in cap space and need 6 or 7 guys to fill out their roster. They can't afford to pay Colton $3.5m and run out a full roster. And Tampa's not accepting picks back for Colton in a trade anyway.

I understand Minnesota might not have the space but as long as Tampa is able to trade colton to a team with room that wants him and we aquire some draft picks they will be sent to Edmonton for broberg as if it was a 3 team trade

Broberg is a solid young dman, but that's a hefty acquisition cost for him. While I still don't believe Killorn is staying in Tampa, and the team will re-sign Colton instead, if he was traded then I'd consider going with the type of deal I've been discussing with different Pittsburgh fans on here. Tampa would get POJ+one of O'Connor/Nylander/Puustinen/Poehling for Colton+Fleury+possibly the '24 4th(depending on which secondary piece from Pittsburgh). It seems like a reasonable trade for both sides, and one where Tampa isn't giving up one of their better prospects and extra picks, in addition to Colton of course.

Colton is Broberg plus. 20.6 g/82pkaying 12:15 and a proven playoff performer ok tell yourself whatever you have to to justify this utter garbage.
Colton over the last 2 seasons 1.14 goals per 60
Playing with 3/4th liners compared to say
Tavares. 1.12
Kubalik .9
Marchand 1.16
Panerin 1.00
He may be the most underrated player on CF.

I agree that colton is extremely underrated but I think him and broberg are worth the same, probably both worth around a 1st and a 3rd. I would rather just keep colton and try using other assets to acquire broberg who I think could have a ton of potential in our system

If they can, that would be ideal. Whether it's Broberg, POJ, or some other youngish, cost controlled LD, if Tampa could acquire one with picks and/or prospects, all the better.

Only difference is broberg is a defenseman and would fill in the most important missing peice this roster has right now. But do all the maths you want

A defensemen who is meh at best defensively we have plenty of offensive left defenseman Sergachev, Hedman. Better off signing a minimum contract vet like a Staal and keep the top 6 quality winger. Who is a proven playoff performer.

Yes because it’s not like we won the cup 2 times with 3 good left shot defenseman. Idk if you can compare staal or fluery to sergachev on the 3rd pair but nothing will seem to chav super mind

Sergachev also wasn't making 8.5and Vasilevskiy the first one was only making 4.9. and the right side combined didn't make as much as Hedman

The cap has and will go up, broberg will cost 850,000 Cheaper than Sergy on his first bridge. The percentage of cap space hedman and Sergy take up next year will be very close to how much hedman and mac took up while Sergy was on the 3rd pair. But hey if you would rather have a replaceable foward rather than develop a very promising and reliable dman then go ahead.

My point is you can find a player like colton or better on almost every team. Is he worth keeping rather than acquiring a young developing player at the position that lost this team their most recent playoff series

Claiming it was Ian Cole who lost TB the leafs series is a completely moronic statement and and utterly false.
Your evaluation of Colton is trash it SUCKS!!! This is where the big argument comes in.

He's not just a guy you find on every team.

By the way you're doing post graduate work in deception here. You're comparing Sergachev salary on his bridge deal to Broberg on his ELC for 1 more year. Again lying to try and better you're argument makes you a disingenuous liar.
