-Chicago's taking a ton of cap hit off your hands for what, here, exactly? Vancouver's shedding $6.5M in cap and getting arguably the best player in the deal; I think Chicago is going to need some significant add to agree to this.
-I think Hoglander and the 1st is a good start here, but I think Pearson is basically no value for the Hurricanes. I would assume Carolina would want a strong prospect coming back here - they're not necessarily in a spot where they *NEED* to move Pesce, so they have the ability to ask for top dollar. This isn't top dollar.

I think you will get a lot of push back from Hawks fans, most have Murphy highly rated, too much so in my opinion.
Having said that I do think it would take more to get the Hawks to accept, like Vancouver adding a 2nd round pick or flipping their 2024 1st for a 2024 2nd.

Pesce or Skjei is likely gone though, right? What would the cost for either of them be, roughly?

Over the past four seasons Boeser has scored 80 goals while playing in 258 games.
Of course giving up all three pieces is too much, while one is considered a fair deal.
The Sabres Victor Olofsson has played in 257 games over the past four seasons and has 81 goals yet everyone thinks he is cap dump while his salary is nearly $2,000,000 lower than Brocks.
No one will every give either of them any selke votes, and I would not expect to get Hanifin for Victor, but he is not a cap dump and has value that NHL GM's who are looking to add scoring would want.</div></div>
I don’t know if I’ve seen anybody call Olofsson a cap dump ever

Canucks easily decline. They weren't paying a 1st to dump Myers before the OEL buyout, and they certainly aren't with their newfound cap space after said buyout.

Canucks do not view Myers as a cap dump. Definitely not at the price of a 1st round pick for 1 year of cap space. Use some logoic

My idea with Barbashev was giving him the 7th year where I think most of his other competitive offers will be 5 or 6 years at higher AAV.
Depends how you're valuing Boeser I think but Pesce will get a strong return
Ya I really want one of those two as well. My hope would be one of them ends up still there at 15 anyways but not the end of the world if they don't as there should be a good forward there then (Moore, Danielson, wood, Barlow)

I like this too but I think Barby is going to get overpaid. Even the term on this deal freaks me out because his career has been inconsistent and he went on a heater next to Eichel on a hot team.
Sounds like Pearson will be back so I don't think you can afford Barby either. But JT centering Beau and Garland (Don't think it would take 11OA, Garland + 3rd to move down a secure a 2nd) with O'Reilly centering Pod and Pearson is a good third line. Aman could center Hog and Dakota.

Not enough for Coghlan. He was actually really solid when he played, but the right side of the defensive unit became so solid with Chatfield's emergence that he didn't really get a chance. For a 24-year-old RD, I'd want a 3rd ideally, but I wouldn't complain with a 4th. A 5th feels like it's just not quite enough

As a Kings fan, I will be the first to say that Durzi is not worth a 1st round pick. 2nd and good prospect.
If you want to pay a 1st, we'll happily take it, but you'd be overpaying.

The rumour was that Garland had basically a net-even trade value, so the offer here is Woo + 3rd + 4th, which would easily get beaten by another team. The only way it works is if the Flames specifically liked Garland and his contract.</div></div>
I think that was in the context of before Vancouver bought out OEL and had zero cap space. Garland is a solid winger on a fair contract so not sure why he would still be a net zero value player.

hate to say this as a canucks fan but Calgary would never consider that unfortunately. swap the 4th for a 1st like someone else mentioned. problem is that if its a 1st and not a 4th then Van wouldnt accept
