Thoughts?
Doesn't make sense to me to give away Scuderi if you no longer have no cap issues. Clendenning is a marginal NHL talent better to put him in the AHL and keep Scuderi

Great moves by Pitt & Rutherford
Bonino's not better than Sutter, and never will be, but the addition of Clendenning and the 2nd for 3rd gives the nod to Pittsburgh on the deal, especially because the cap saving allowed the signing of Fehr. Not sure how will Tim Erixon is going to fare as your 1st line LW though ????

Why would Washington trade Holtby when they don't have cap issues and they are contenders, makes no sense to me.

Columbus have less than $3M in cap space so you'll have to find another trading partner, also if they were able to move Versteeg & Bickell without retaining any salary I'm pretty sure they would resign Oduya .

Leafs have zero cap issues so they aren't going to retain 50% of Lupul's salary when they don't need the relief. Toronto are $7M under the cap for this year and have less than $37M committed for next year so they won't be retaining salary .

If Toews & Crawford were actually paid what they are worth
So in your world Kane is worth $3.75M a year more than Toews , who is worth only $750K more than Brandon Saad ? That's pretty funny .

Kings retool for another cup
So Detroit is taking on $11.65M in Brown/Quick while moving only $5.2M in Howard and Helm after the $2.2M retention, the net cap hit for Detroit is $6.45M when they are currently less than $100K under the cap so I can't really see this one happening.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div><i>Good evening. Please don't force Frannson on the Leafs again. Really think Victor Loob can make the team next year. In 2016/17 maybe Finn, Nillson, Granberg can make the team. Really think Gibson and Bibeau will be the goalies for the Leafs 2016/2017. Gibson makes the team this year.</i></div></div>
Good afternoon, thanks for the comment. Your opinion is your opinion and maybe you're right about Loov and Gibson, but when you make statements that are unsubstantiated by most hockey observers it doesn't help your case. Gibson didn't look anywhere NHL ready the times I saw him last year and almost every scouting report lists him as second among Leafs goalie prospects, and nobody seems to think any of the Leafs minor league goalies are ready anytime soon . Victor Loov is nowhere near ready for the NHL based on what I've seen live and what I read, though I do think he has potential on the back end of the rotation by 2017 if he continues to improve. Franson is a solid puck mover, he's good on the power play, good with the 1st pass and lead the Leafs in relative Corsi most of the time he was in Toronto, he does however suffer from "Leaf fan over expectation syndrome" which means all his positives are discounted and all his flaws over stated .

Solid roster otherwise.</i></div></div>
Please indicate any published material where Dubas has said that Nylander, Kapanen or Harrington will all spend a full year in the AHL. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>McJesus</b></div><div><i>I'd rather keep polak and Spaling until the trade deadline whereby hopefully they will have put up some better numbers with increased minutes and so can be flipped for greater assets.
I also think Polak is a good role model for our young defensmen so I wouldn't mind keeping him either</i></div></div>
Thanks for the input.
Reasonable points but while I like Polak as a player I doubt he'll be worth more than a 3rd and a mid level prospect at the deadline and Spaling just isn't likely to get enough minutes behind Kadri, Holland and Bozak, assuming he doesn't get dealt, to increase his stock.

2015-2016 Prediction
The only reason to trade Bozak away for a pair of 3rds is if you have cap issues, the Leafs don't so Bozak won't be going anywhere for two 3rd round picks.

With Kadri signed
The Matthias signing obviously changes things but I still think it's more likely Bailey breaks camp with the Leafs than Carrick or Frattin, also have doubts they get Marincin signed for $850K but it's really kind of moot as they have no cap issues.

Ideal depth with Kessel
St. Louis are cash strapped, which is why they dealt Oshie, there's no way they are trading for Kunitz, sorry. Still keep Kunitz, don't sign Matthias and you're still under the cap.
