RAPM charts account for the players impact. Their xG produced offensively and defensively, etc etc. You’re choosing to toss it aside because “muhhh, the player has teammates!!11!!” Yeah, the model knows that.

Parayko is still average, and get off your high horse. I know how the charts work, you’re choosing to ignore them because they don’t fit your narrative.

If you don’t like RAPM charts, plenty of other public models don’t favour Parayko either. But let me guess, he played good in 2021 on a blue moon tuesday game?

I understand how RAPM charts work. As well as every other public analytic model that craps on Parayko. Me calling him average is almost a compliment considering how much of a step back he’s taken with more ice time.

You have 0 evidence to rebuttal me, aside from personal jabs. Your only comeback to “x player isn’t that good” is “lul well do you watch him?” That’s it. Every time.

I’d rather take the statistics as gospel than to have a <em>very</em> bias Blues fan tell me to “just watch him”. What am I going to find if I watch him, more mediocrity? Must be why the Blues are struggling to get out of the bottom of the central.

The numbers indicate he’s producing significantly less 5v5 defense impact than he did when he was playing behind Pietro. And each year, it gets worse. His defensive xG has trended downwards as well. He hasn’t done ANYTHING since Pietro left (aside from a random few month stint two seasons ago you wont stop talking about) that suggests he’s all that good. Combine that with a contract that clearly will not age well.

your eye test still means nothing to me, as well as everyone else on this site. they’ve seem to recognize that Parayko is painfully average, you’re the one still clinging on.

RAPM charts are individual player stats based on their performance. To say “oh but his team!” is a cop out people use when they can’t accept the fact that their player isn’t that good.

My point of contention is just because a player plays in the 1RD position, doesn't mean he has that skillset. I guess Fabbro must be a 1RD with that logic, or Gudas?

What differentiates the numbers from your 'absolute' eye test? Does the eye test of one homer dictate that the numbers that indicate he's been on a steady decline are WRONG? You throw a hissy fit every time somebody doesn't massively overrate your painfully mediocre and overpaid defenseman lol.

Saying we live in fantasy land is the pot calling the kettle black mi amigo. Parayko is average, it's living in a fantasy land to suggest otherwise.

per this season, he's very mediocre. and the results aren't much different for last season.

Just because he plays there doesn't make him a 1rd. He's been subpar at best the past few seasons playing top minutes against top comp. If his metrics aren't all that good in a 1RD role, then he's not a 1RD.

This narrative that's constantly spun by like the 3 blues fans on this site that Parayko is some never seen before elite DFD is played out. He's average. And his contract is brutal. Full NTC until he's 35 with a modified clause until he's 37. No thanks

3rd line or 4th line, doesn't change the fact that 8m (10m if you include Okposo) of your cap is going towards a line of 4th line caliber players that are meh in the defensive zone, and you didn't need to trade a 2nd for an overpaid Greenway when you could have put that money/picks towards goalie help. If Adams wanted to get tougher, there are a plethora of league min grinders that he didn't have to spend a second on lol

Adams has made some great and bad decisions equally. Developing Tage and Cozens has panned out great. But then paying your 4th line 8m and trading a 2nd, 5th for Jordan freaking Greenway was terrible. I will agree that Levi is great but starting him is a gamble and a half.
