Ottawa being strong-armed by Karlsson - WEBER BLOCKBUSTER
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MTLaveragefan</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Moller</b></div><div>Two things.
1) if all it took was 9.5M, Ottawa would just sign him. They'll probably end up signing him up to 12M or 13M in the end.
2) Weber is not a cheap contract. That's a 7.8M cap hit until like 2025 or something.</div></div>
1) As you might see, Habs have 8M in cap space... The 9.5M was a base, I know it will get higher
2) Well 7.8 is cheaper than 12M my friend !!!
It is A LOT better than letting him walk for notting !</div></div>
You're also high if you think that Ottawa is going to want a bunch of declining veterans in return for duchene and karlsson. The main reason they wouldnt resign karlsson for that much money is because they have nobody else to build around him before he starts to decline, so why would they take middle class aging players in return for two superstars? If they trade Karlsson, it would be to build for the future. You would probably be looking at giving up ATLEAST Poehling, Scherbak, maybe Juulsen too. Just look at what colorado Got back for Duchene only. You add in Karlsson to that, might as well give them your entire farm system.

Lines I want to see tonight
I would swap Seabrook and Franson on defensive lines. He's been doing really well in a reduced role lately so I don't think you should bench him. Also lines at practice were 20-19-12, 8-15-88, 10-38-14, 17-57-40. I would assume vinnie comes in to replace either sharp or panik. But I would agree with benching sharp.

Pens offers for Nuge
Probably only chance Penguins get Nuge is with (and this is based roughly on the Duchene trade, and dont tell me Duchene is better than Nuge, RNH is having a more productive season) some combination with sprong, cole and picks, or probably a straight up 1 for 1 with guentzal, which I know you would never want to hear but probably what chiarelli would ask for. So based on that, im gonna go with Pens don't get Nuge.

If anything, we would trade for him to be a center, not a winger. Would be more realistic if we traded vinnie and anisimov would probably be on the move as well to make room for him. I would've also suggested trading murphy to make cap space, which could make sense for buffalo to potentially add a young gritty D-Man, but his value isnt that high right now and Q is liking his progress. Overall, probably 0 chance this deal happens unless anisimov is part of the return package (unlikely for buffalos needs unless they are 100% resigning kane) or he gets dealt beforehand.</div></div>
ya you may be right. i would like to have him with kane though. maybe the hawks could make this move in the offseason or something.</div></div>

As of right now, I wouldnt like this to happen, as anisimov is on fire lately and seems to be the only reason our PP isnt last place. Not saying I wouldnt take ROR as a 2nd/3rd line center, but having 22.9 mil tied up in our 3 centers seems like a bit much and I dont want to trade anisimov at the moment. This wouldve seemed like a great idea in the start of the season though

Lines id like to see
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>graderman</b></div><div>No idea why you have little/no interest in Tanner Kero. Exactly what has he done or not done to be waived at this point? If you want to call up Highmore and Dauphin, then do something with Oesterle first. There is no reason to have 8 dmen on the roster when the team has such a time scoring most nights. To my point, in his two games back, Kero has a goal and an assist and has fared decent (for a Hawk) on the dot. While he might not be an integral part as a center, there sure aren't many if any that have done better in these past two games. I am very glad he's been reinstated into the lineup and hope Q (but no A) keeps him active.
As for your lines and pairings, Sharp should be healthy scratch and so should his old buddy Seabrook!! Then move Murph back to his natural right side with Kempny.</div></div>
Notice how I didn't send him down in this? I agree with you that he has been doing fine, but I am saying that he isn't exactly the greatest center for alex debrincat as a more offensive minded center would be. Given how well debrincat has done in the defensive zone for a rookie though, I would say it would definitely be fine for now. As for scratching seabrook, I do agree with you, but there is no way on earth quenneville scratches seabrook. So I am thinking how quenneville would roll them. If it were up to me, seabrook would be gone by now. But the likelihood of that happening in the near future is slim to none.
