STLPHI trade almost confirmed

I'm not excited nor upset about it. If I had any final say, I would just rather pass I think, but it's not awful. The Sanheim term is what concerns me most.</div></div>
I’m not even a stl fan but I completely agree I like Sanheim but for his age that contract is scary.

They aren’t over the cap, they just bought out OEL … that being said Canucks definitely accept.

Perfect Offseason
this is brutal. Doubtful it takes that many picks to get off bad contracts but the free agent signings are worse. Klingberg is the exact opposite type of dman canucks need and teddy blueger isn’t a 3C. Barbashev is great but canucks aren’t in a position to overpay for a winger.

Let's face it the Blue Jackets already have Gaudreau, Laine, Severson, and Provorov.
There's no point for JT to be in Columbus with that awful contract.
Boeser isn't going anywhere caz he wants another chance.</div></div>
Those are all W/D cbj have no centers, JT is a local guy too

Miller to CBJ makes too much sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TooMalevolent</b></div><div>Yeah I don't think it's good for CBJ because I don't think Miller is not a 1C (or a C in general), but I think that they think he is, and I think they would definitely want him. I imagine Van as stated many times doesn't want picks, so I think they try to push for Sillinger.</div></div>
Probably , but they need to realize that teams aren’t going to give up young cost controlled top players and understand that you can take future assets and flip them for early to mid 20 guys.

Canucks likely lose that deal but as a Canucks fan I would probably take that deal because they badly need to shed salary and get a 3C.

Canucks don’t have a 2nd and I think if they traded Miller they’d get a mid 1st. But yeah figured it would be something like that.

Vancouver Swap
One of few really well rounded trades on this site, as a Canucks fan even tho Miller is easily the best player in the trade I think I’d pull the trigger. I mean boeser could even end up being the second best player of the 4 but Canucks need the cap space and future flexibility also at 8 would have a shot at Michkov although I’m not convinced they would take him lol.

Maybe not win now in the sense of all in but they’ll want to tmake the playoffs. You don’t sign Johnny Gaudreau and Erik Gudbranson if you’re not trying to be competitive.

3OA, either Leo Carlsson or Adam Fantilli, will be good for the team for like 15 years. You don't trade it from someone who has max 8 years left.
Laine will get a look at C anyway.</div></div>

Just ignoring the 11th overall pick? CBJ desperately needs a #1C to play with their skilled young wingers , and they want to win now.

Realistic Canucks off-season

It doesn’t but that’s on them , nobody thought the Jeannot trade was a smart/good one. Just because you overpay for a player doesn’t mean everyone else will too.
Also completely different situation, Jeannot was cost controlled for 2 years, Colton is a due a big raise.

Realistic Canucks off-season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dan_the_Man</b></div><div>If TB is forced to trade Colton (personally don't see it) they certainly get better offers than that. They might be in a cap crunch (though it's not nearly as bad as many on here seem to think) many teams would be interested in Colton's services. The ensuing bidding war negates the cap situation. If he had an only Vancouver clause or something you maybe correct on the "not much leverage" quote. Colton, Jeannot and fill the roster with 900k>contracts</div></div>
Yeah I could see it being more, I honestly don’t know what his value is but when guys like Elliotte Friedman bring up his name then you gotta think he’s available. Like I said earlier maybe it’s Colton straight up for one of Hoglander or Podz since they’re cost controlled for a lot cheaper.

You’re probably right , I wanted it to be a 3rd but OTT doesn’t have one. That being said Rathbone is a really good young puck moving dman who hasn’t got a fair shot in VAN. Also local and national media guys have all said that Myers will have value after his $5M bonus is paid out along with being on the last year of his contract.

Realistic Canucks off-season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Justafan79</b></div><div>Which gives TB the better chance of winning this year next 2-3 Ross Colton the picks? If your answer is Colton TB declines. If your answer is not Colton you're wrong and TB declines.
Any trade for Colton to Vancouver starts with Podkolzin+
What does Julien Brisebois have to do to convince people he doesn't hold a high value on picks right now? One would think giving a 1-5 for a 3rd liner would make that brutally obvious.
Ohh, please show me one trade in his 5 years as TB GM where he traded away a bonifide NHLer for picks? Mitchell for a 7 doesn't count.</div></div>
Fair enough, although they could easily just flip the picks for help now since the move would essentially be to shed cap. That being said I could see a Podkolzin or Hoglander straight up but no chance canucks are adding to them.

Not enough back for a 99 pt c/w. I think you’d have to add Ty Smith or one of their top prospects not name holtz.
