Maybe killer, but Tatar is already 32 and a middle six winger. 3 years at 4.1 is way too much and too much term

AJO wouldn't even be close to our 2nd best LHD prospect. I would put Kaiser, Vlasic, Phillips, Galvas, Allan, and Del Mastro ahead of him pretty easily.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CheechYou</b></div><div>Again, the Grier way as far as my expectations go. I'm not even being facetious or being overly despondent. Grier has a track record of overpaying for guys he wants and cutting loose decent guys for too little. Objectively, Labanc's worth an early 3rd/late 2nd on a pending UFA deal. For whatever reason, Quinn hasn't liked his play so it's a safe bet to postulate that he'll likely be moved in the offseason.</div></div>
You have zero clue what you're talking about. You're just an irrational Grier hater. How can a GM have a track record AT ALL that has been a GM for less than a year.
Who has he overpaid? The biggest contract he's given out is Ferraro at 3.25 mil which is very fair value. The other contracts are low risk low reward contracts. Sturm and Benning are the longest term deals and are proving to be absolute steals.
As for his trading habits (again way to early to say he has a track record of anything) but he's so far looked for a return of future assets, and a lot of them at that. Meier got a a top d-prospect, depth d-prospect, young middle to top six NHLer, and potentially two Firsts (one guaranteed). The 2022 12th overall got a late first and two seconds as a return. Neither are consistent with what you're proposing here.
You're right in the fact that Grier has the guys he likes and goes after them but so far it's payed off very well. Took a risk to get Thrun and he's been great, I'll take Kaut over Merkley any day, Peterson has been great in the NHL where Reedy likely is a career AHLer, Bystedt and Havelid were "reach" picks but are looking like absolute steals.

Depending on where the 1st lands, it’s really not too bad of value. Assume pick 26 for 38 and probably like 56. Obviously it’s very hard to quantify any of those picks now. But I’ve seen much much worse

No to both of those statements lol. Anderson is bordering on a cap dump with his contract. Mantha is likely somewhere in the area of costing a late second to dump or returning a late round pick. He is not going to cost the 11th overall pick in a stacked draft. This trade is delusional.

hahahahahha in what world does Anderson go for a first +...
Idk maybe you are trolling, but that is outrageous. Mantha is arguable better (or more valuable) than Anderson, especially with only have one more year left at $5.7m
But hey - thanks for the laugh

You don't move the 11th pick to dump a guy with 1 year left on his deal. It's terrible asset management. Anderson isn't worth a first plus either. One has 27 pts and one 32.

Teams offered multiple 1sts, they were late and they wanted us to take salary back without compensating us to do it. A top 12 pick and two 2nds is worth more than 2 late 1sts, a B prospect, and a cap dump. If chychrun doesn’t get hurt he was gone last year, they got good value, but it’s Arizona so people will knock it regardless.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Benzino204</b></div><div>If they traded him a year ago they could have gotten two high picks, and a great prospect. They got greedy, and then traded him off for less than they should have gotten for him. They got less for Ghost than Montreal got for Chairot, and we all know who the better defenseman is.</div></div>
That was disproven from Bill himself, he said in post deadline interviews that other teams were holding his injury history and the fact that he posted a poor season the year prior against him. We were about to trade him last year before the deadline, he toe picked at the blue line and needed multiple surgeries. It’s not a case of getting greedy, it’s a case of the offers never being up to public expectations. As far as ghost goes, he also was coming back from injury and only had a couple games before the deadline. Offensive defenseman don’t get the same value as perceived “playoff style” defenseman. We got a 2nd, 3rd, and a 7th for playing ghost for a year and a half, and that 2nd was used to get conor geekie as well. We got more than enough value out of ghost, so we sent him to a contender that he wanted to go to

At this point it wouldn't be surprising if the traded Keller for an Outback Steakhouse gift card, and a bottle of Zima.</div></div>
Is the chychrun return laughable though? They got a top 12 pick and two 2nds for a dude who’s done for the year again. They did ghost a solid, that’s management taking care of vets. Bill Armstrong has won basically every trade he’s attempted, including his first one that completely sunk the Canucks. They’re not trading Keller, we went through this same exact thing last summer when Ottawa insisted we were broke and we were just going to give them Keller

I feel like Florida will ride it out until a cap crunch comes apon them. Sure the cap savings rn would be nice but for every year they can delay a buyout that's 2 less years of that buyout which could be crucial in managing the team into the future.
