What is GMSY going to do to fix this mess
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Logicalicesports</b></div><div>LMFAO Cossa will not be the starter. He is not at all what the Wings thought he would be (hence drafting Augustine). I can see Cossa potentially becoming the back up in a couple more years but I cannot see him finding his groove that much to become the starter on the wings. I still can't believe he passes on Wallstadt for him</div></div>

It's a bit underwhelming, but like it or not it's being done the right way and we will see that in the next couple of seasons.

is this an option
1. Detroit buying out Husso to add a 40 year old goalie sounds like a Ken Holland move, not a Steve Yzerman move...
2. ASP is also not coming to the NHL next season lol.
3. The Seider contract is extremely optimistic, IMO. If it's an 8 year deal, I think the best case scenario is you convince him to match Larkin.

No chance, have you seen them play in person? Wallstadt looks like he is going to be a Franchise goalie. The real overrated young goaltender is Levi in my opinion. Saw him play a couple times and was not very impressed

There is a direct connection between players drafted and developed within your own system and sustained success. I've been saying it all season players on the backend like Holl, Chariot, Petry, Maatta and Husso are merely place holders and the front end you have Fischer, Sprong, Fabbri and Czanik. I think Perron and Ghost were signed that way as well but have had a resurgence and if Yzerman can sign them cheap enough he probably keeps them for a couple of more seasons. Look at TB they been a contender for a quite a while and they were in far better shape when Yzerman took over than Detroit was. Have some patients and remember one of the main reasons this is taking as long as it is was from 25 seasons of buying at the TDL.
I'm sorry but as good as Guentzel is he isn't a smart signing for Detroit. They need another good RHD a lot more, so using some of the money to sign Roy makes a lot more sense.</div></div>
Yzerman was lucky enough to have a young Stamkos and Hedman already in Tampa when he started.

Petry buyout doesn't save much, might as well have him as 7th D.
Husso maybe, but I think he has the ability to bounce back. Still need a replacement goaltender. I like throwing the idea of a Husso - Merzlinkins swap.
Holl yes, he's likely a buyout candidate.
Copp no. Still need someone to play a bit of defensive hockey although I haven't seen enough of him lately to see if he is excelling in that aspect. That was the best trait of his game in Winnipeg, the offense was just bonus. He is also one of our best face-off guys in a team that isn't that good at draws. Then the term of the buyout really isn't great. Going to need someone to help shelter Danielson, Kasper and the other young players that could see time in the future here.
I don't think Guentzel would be the answer. I would be more focused on upgrading the defense. Signing Matt Roy or Brett Pesce would really go a long way in that regards. Maybe a couple more physical forwards, with strong work ethics and strong defensive metrics. Dakota Joshua, Yakov Trenin are two players I like.
I haven't watched much of the games lately but I'm not thinking Edvinsson is ready for top pairing minutes. I don't think ASP could jump to the NHL yet, would like to see him get a year in Grand Rapids next season.
I would also like to see Mazur and one of Danielson or Kasper on the team next year. I believe Danielson might be eligible for the AHL next year which wouldn't be a bad thing for him I think.

Hard to say, it's not ridiculous. Acciari is just an older version of Veleno and likely declining where Veleno is improving.

If Yzerman signs Raymond and Seider to 8 year deals I don't think he'll have the cap space to sign Guentzel.
But I can't see Yzerman's offering a max deal to Guentzel.

Detroit aren't sellers this year.
No to the Hanifin and Markstrom trade, Hanifin won't sign long term with Detroit. So that offer is dead. And zero interest in a 35 year old Goalie who more than likely will be retired before we're cup contenders once again.

C. Sprong is a Great bottom winger which teams covet due to production and cap allocated, doubt Steve moves him
