Would be hilarious to watch the meltdown in Leafs nation if they brought back Bernier, the wings could get a better return then this for him.

If Yzermann is trading Bernier it won't be a late pick and Elliott it'll be like a third

No thanks from Detroit. Fabbri has paced in the 50s in Detroit and Stetcher is a good RD for us.

Dumba, Boldy and a late 1st for Larkin.
Detroit soundly rejects this offer.

In a vacuum, I'm not sure the value difference is a first. But that's moot, because I don't think Detroit even considers this for a second.

Larkin would look really good in wild green, but to be fair he’s a centerpiece they are rebuilding around. I couldn’t picture them trading him

Minor moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fedorov91</b></div><div>Sure honest take. He's a bottom 6 forward whose super fast and will score a decent amount, nothing overwhelming. He's a good piece to have on your team with an extremly friendly cap hit. Could play any of the 3F positions and could play top 6 if needed. However at this time he's one of our only forwards signed past this year, he's from the Detroit area, he wants to be in Detroit which is hard to come by right now and just brings the right kind of veteran mindset to a team whose rebuilding and loses a lot. All of it means he would be a great depth option for a team that needs his skills, but the wings are not looking to trade him for all those other various reasons at this time. Maybe next trade deadline would be a different story</div></div>
Great to know thanks! Was surprised not seeing him discussed more. Makes sense if Detroit is a good spot for him personally they may try to trade a lot of other players first.

That DET offer is one of the most absurd trades I've seen on here.
And that doesn't even get you close to Eichel. If Fox or Miller aren't involved then it's a waste of time.

I wouldn't trade Seider for Dahlin straight up. And on top of that you're asking for a 1st and 2nd for Skinner and his contract?

I think he’s a good player to replace Andy Greene for the next few years. I’m not sure if, given the islanders trade for him, would they sign him long term.

Chevy thinking outside the box
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fedorov91</b></div><div>I just don't think we need to give up picks and prospects that have top 4 upside (tuomo) and never know with the pick, compared to a bottom 6 forward whose 26 and hasn't done anything before. We have plenty of those types of guys already or can sign them for free in the offseason. Honestly this offer wasn't appealing in the least to me once I saw tuomo in it. For the 3rd it's def something to do, but for any of our better prospects I wouldn't do it</div></div>
Which is fine, I’m just not super high on Tuomisto at the moment. Usually some will say that UFAs won’t sign in a tire fire like Detroit but Copp is an exception as he’s a local and its Winnipeg (no offense Jet fans just basing this off that player survey from last year or maybe two years ago). So I understand why you’d rather go another way and be more conservative in asset management. Lowry would be a good target as he’d slot in at 3C or 2C if Yzerman flips Fabbri at the TDL next year. I also wouldn’t trade our 2021 second rounder as there a bunch of guys that could potentially “fall” or we do a slight trade up based on scouting services rankings so take that with a grain of salt. There’s a few in the teens or 20s I’d give all of Detroit’s second rounders for like Sillinger.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>This is Copp's 6th season as a pro and is averaging about 23 points a game. Coming into this season he has never hit 30 points in a season and he has only scored more than 10 goals twice. I'm sorry but great isn't a word I'd use to describe him at least not yet. He is an above average player having a very good season. There is no way I'd give up Tuomisto straight up for Copp and they want a 3rd pick as well this isn't smart for Detroit. I trade Lindstrom and a maybe a 3rd for Copp.</div></div>
A fair description of Copp is that he is a defensively sound 3LW / 3C with modest offensive upside. He is at his ceiling in this Jets roster, as he won't be able to crack the top 6 unless the Jets move Stastny from 1LW to centre his own line. Last season, Copp filled in well at 2C but didn't set the world on fire offensively and the Jets went out to get Stastny in the offseason to be 2C before Dubois took that role after the trade. After reading about the Red Wings prospects, I wouldn't trade Tuomisto for Copp if I were Detroit.

The most likely player to go to Seattle is Namestnikov. The Toronto trade that Detroit acquires Engvall means they can leave him unprotected and protect Namestnikov.

Addition by subtraction. Meaning subtracting Skinner from that deal. Even at 50% retained, he isn't worth it. Let him rot in Buffalo. best way to keep a division rival down is to let that contract sink them.

Yup, and my rational came from the Zucker trade. That one was a 1st and a top tier prospect, but Pittsburgh isn't trading a prospect right now so I was hoping the 2nd pairing young defender might be of interest. Oh well. Just send us Bobby Ryan and we will call it a day lol

I thought about that, but his career numbers seemed to be a bit underwhelming to do a second pair D, a first, AND one of our top 3 prospects. But I definitely understand if Detroit would ask for more, I just wouldn't pay more.
