GMJR loves dealing at the draft
Prices are off on Oleksiak and Rust. Big O will be $1.5-2M easy and Rust at $3M. Sheary signed a 3x3M deal, Rust is better than he is so that's the bar.
Vegas would never take that offer, Schmidt is such a good defenseman. Sheary may be worth one 3-5 round pick, his value is so low right now after a bad year, I'd be shocked if Pitt got two picks for him. I do agree they need hunwick gone and I'd love to see them add Grabner and Kunitz again this off season. I would be all for them getting rid of Hagelin and adding Grabner to fill in that PK role and play on 2nd or 3rd line wing, plus safe some cap space.

Kessel to LA + Domi
I like the ideas here. Domi and Komarov would add some toughness and skill to an already skilled forward group. I think Hunwick could get dealt to Dallas for a late pick given they have only a few D men under contract for next year. Agree that Sheary would need to be packaged with DeSmith or Jarry and a pick for Domi. I really hope the pens get Domi in some manner, he'd be a perfect fit there.

Max Domi to Pens
I like it. Anyone who thinks Domi wouldn't flourish or have a major uptick in production with the Pens is an idiot. I think that's a fair trade and I think Domi would be a 20 goal scorer on the right team. Arizona is a garbage club, he's had nobody to play with until Keller came along this year. Domi would also add some sand paper which is much needed in the top 9 for Pens skill set.

2018 -19 pens ($80M cap)
What would be your trade for Domi? He'll be considerably better in Pittsburgh, easily score 20 goals. Sheary is useless unless he's on Sid's line.

Off season Pens ($80M cap)
Curious what you guys think hamilton would be worth in a trade? I get he's a stud D man and about to enter his prime. What else aside from a 90+ point winger in Kessel?

What the Pittsburgh Penguins should do this offseason.
Not bad at all here. I still think the Pens need to add some grit in their bottom 6. Especially if Sprong is up all year which GMJR was hinting at, you'll have a lot of small, skilled wingers which won't bode well for playoffs IMO. Sheary is useless unless he plays with Sid, I'd trade him for a draft pick...someone like Vancouver or Vegas could use that type of player.
Pens also need to get a bit better defensively. I'd love to see them add Justin Faulk as a top 4 d man, or if (hope they don't) but if they trade Kessel they better get a stud defenseman in return.

I like the creativity here. I'd love to see Pitt bolster the blue line and I won't be the least bit surprised if Kessel is traded this summer. I don't know if I agree 100% they should trade him, but they'll never get more of a return then right now after his career year. He's been so good with Malkin, hopefully they keep him and let those two guys do their thing. It seems one of their RW may get traded once they re-sign Rust, and have Hornqvist, Sprong, Kessel at that position. That's a tough call on GMJR.
I'd also love to see PItt land Max Domi, he'd be a perfect fit in that lineup and bring some toughness they lack. I agree Hagelin, Sheary and of course Hunwick will likely be dealt, though I don't know if they'd get more than a 3rd round pick for Sheary. Hagelin could be dealt to any number of teams for a 3rd, also wouldn't mind seeing Pitt keep him given he's coming up on a contract year. I bet he plays great next year knowing he needs a new deal, whether that's in PItt or not. Good stuff though!

Pens 2018-19
Agree sheary and hunwick will need to go. Love the Grabner idea, he'd be a perfect fit on Pittsburgh. Curious to see what GMJR does this summer, if he tries to shell some cap space and bring in better D men or bigger, depth wingers. Brassard will bounce back next year regardless if he's on wing or center.

I like it, I put together a similar team with Grabner and Faulk so we are on the same page. Faulk would be a huge addition and Grabner, or even a guy like Athanasiou or Max Domi would be great fits on the Wing if they could figure out a sign and trade for either. For sure Sheary and Hunwick need to go, I could even seen Hagelin getting moved if they sign Grabner as a replacement or if they needed the cap space with Faulk.

Trades to add speed
I like the creativity here but would be tough to pull off. If Pitt can add either Grabner, Athanasiou or even a sign and trade for RFA Max Domi I think that would help them. 100% agree Sheary and Hunwick need to go and if Hagelin creates cap space then go for it. Even without the Bjugstad deal here, that RW group looks solid. Trade Sheary for a 3rd round pick to clear $3M in space.
Defense is still suspect, they need some bigger and better defenders and Letang to get back to normal, he was brutal this post season.

Tis the season for insanity
As a pittsburgh fan, this would be unreal. I completely agree the players to go are sheary and hunwick, and if hagelin needs to move to get a superstar like JT then go for it!
