Cap space is not the problem. They have 20m. It’s the 20m in bonuses the first 2 years and the 5 year term.

If the Offer Sheet Is Not Matched
If they match, they can't trade him for a year from what I heard.

Sure they could make a trade, if Carolina matches first. Then the teams can sit down and figure out what will work best for them, that is if there is no NMC in that offer sheet. 2 firsts a player and prospect maybe gets it done?

Ok. So looks like they won’t talk trade, but I don’t think that there’s anything in the CBA that says they can’t make a trade right now. (It just can’t involve Aho)

Come on Debrincat, Chicago trade Danault + Romanov vs Weise Fleishman ? No Danault + 2nd round pick. Shaw got alot of injuries, that lower is value

Habs Trades and signings
Montreal isn't willing to sacrifice the future to win now. That being said, Hoffman had the best season of his career and nobody knows if he can reproduce it. Trading Evans who was our best forward in Laval and our best RHD prospect for said player, doesn't make sense to me. Montreal just isn't willing to do that.
Why would we trade Alzner who is making less and is signed for shorter for Lucic? It's just not worth it.

you see it coming to dont ya ?
Kotkanemi-Ylonen is going to be lethal for Years to come .
i'm so pumped because Ylonen is such a unique style RW with explosive speed from a stand still

1st trade i'm good with , 2nd isnt worth it we're giving up more for a lesser player .
i'd rather have Suzuki as a Center and PP leader then a straight up Winger with scoring touch as Ylonen is going to be here next year just like Lehkonen and Kotkanemi he's gonna surprise a lot of people at Campo (bank on it )
Ylonen >Vesalainen

i mean f***ed if i care what you think about Price but to think that low of the team suggests a Serious lack of familiarity with any player in our system at all . . . . . . .

Romanov is a stud on the TBL of the KHL . he shut up doubters taking all top defensive awards he could at the U-20 tourny .
Brook is a smooth skating PP specialist who can play LD and RD as seen in the U-20 tourny and MTL could use that as could Laval .
Juulsen will be back stronger then before just like Gallagher,Shaw and Weber were after injury .
i know our D looks bad but Factor in this , Mete , Petry and Weber then you see why i think MTL is going to be strong as f***
i follow Hockey at all levels as much as i can so i see or prospects a lot more then most which is why i wasnt surprised with Danault as while everyone says '' third line center' here he is top 6 all day long and top 10 in most faceoff categories in the NHL taking 45-50% of MTL total faceoffs . he's a stud people pretend to be surprised by .

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>habs012</b></div><div>how is this not fair? What are you expecting to pay for price a 2 round pick?????????</div></div>
Not a second round pick, but a top 2 defenseman, a future number 1 center and a 1st round is way too much for any goaltender, not just price. Hell Patrick Roy never got that return. Not to mention, Price's salary drives the asking way down. If he was only 6 mil like Gibson or under like Quick, maybe you get more. But considering Binnington is playing hotter than any goalie right now, they have to ride it out.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>habs012</b></div><div>They don't have the best goaltending. He is a world-class goalkeeper who wouldn't want him?</div></div>
He is a very good goaltender who has the salary of a world-class goalkeeper. He's played like his october-November self far more often than "world class" over the last three seasons. Plus he's almost 30 and oft-injured. Assuming someone did want to take him on, don't think a team like the Blues would give you that much
