First, if you have not, I would quickly watch any SJS video urinatingtree did. Not that I fully agree with them (being honest I don't really know much about the team), but I do find it easier to make a decision on something if I know the pros and cons about someone or something. Because most of what I know about Doug Wilson is from those videos I will keep my opinion out of who I think the next president should be. For GM, honestly I am not a huge fan of JBB. I mean Yzerman really built the team in Tampa Bay and JBB really just inherited them. I could agree with bringing in Megan Chayaka to help out with analytics and even as a tactical decision to give Chicago some good press, however maybe as an AGM or a member of the scouting department. Call me crazy but if/when Stan is fired, I would like to see Chris Chelios act as a temporary GM or even as president. This dude is a hockey psycho who played until the age of 48. After playing he was immediately hired to a front office position by the Red Wings. Since then Chelios has also been an Assistant Coach for the WJC USA Hockey team, the Red Wings, and the 2018 USA Olympic Team. Personally I would like to see what he would do with the team over a short time span as a GM first. If it doesn’t go well then at least he could teach Megan Chayka what he knows, further making her a prime candidate to replace him. There is also the entire possibility that this move is already in the works. Sliding in replacements through the side door does seem to be a common theme for this organization. Remember when Joel Quenneville was hired as a “scout”? If Chelios was going to be president the announcement would have been made by now so I really see him more as GM. He knows how to develop players, know how the front office works, has coaching experience, and scouting experience. As for coaching, I couldn't agree more. I hate Colliton with a passion but there was one thing I think they did right by promoting him, bringing in a fresh face. He had no experience as a NHL coach and wasn’t a recycled coach from a different team. Although Scott Sandelin has no NHL coaching experience either, Colliton is nowhere close to his level.
Edit: Sorry for the large paragraph

What Now
Honestly, unless Artemi Panarin demands a trade to Chicago and retains half his salary this team is not a playoff contender, and even if that did happen I still don't see the bread man producing as well due to the Shaw, Sharp, and Saad experiment. I don't even want the Hawks to make the playoffs because I think the only true way we could become contenders is by firing JC and Bowman (becausethey both have to be on the hot seat), and even then we would probably start winning cups again around the time Toews and Kanes careers are about to end. I think JC could be a NHL coach but the Hawks are not his team.

Yeah but let's be honest Arizona really is great either, this is their first most successful season in a while. Plus, Keller is a future stud for Arizona and I don't see them getting rid of him unless some one was overpaying in a trade to get him.

Hawks would need to give more to get Keller, maybe a pick and an elite prospect, but I don't see Arizona trading away Keller unless a team was offering McDavid.

But after this deadline when he could’ve actually gotten quality returns but didn’t, I’ve joined the bandwagon. I unfortunately think we continue to see glimmers of hope which keeps buying the front office and coaches more time.</div></div>
Oh without a doubt, and Bowman is probably the one who would get away with most of this and probably be there as long as his father is a part of the organization.

Yes, and at the same time I want Bowman's head mounted on my wall, lol. Honestly though I would love to see them win but I just want Bowman and Colliton out so bad, my hatred for the two of them is so strong after the trade deadline that I have not watched a game since last week Monday. I'm going to stop myself here before I go off on a rant.

Even the Hawks do get to a playoff spot it doesn't stop the fact that we'd be out of the playoffs in 5-6 games and that is if everyone plays at the same level of Toews or Kane. We're better off tanking than making the playoffs, plus would be a great way to prove that Bowman and Colliton need to go.

A Different Angle
I feel the problem really is with the coaching and no, I am not about to go on a rant about Colliton. However I am going to bring up something that I thought was pretty interesting over the summer. Before the Blackhawks Convention Seabrook revealed in an interview how he felt that every move he made the season prior was already scripted or played out for him. I don't know if anything has changed since then but if that is the case then that could be the case for why Boqvist isn't exactly exceeding our expectations. As you mentioned before "Hughes constantly looks like the cuffs are off and he’s allowed to express himself and make mistakes since he always seems to learn. Boqvist always looks like someone is either sitting on his back or whispering in his ear and he’s afraid to take chances." I also believe that Boqvist truly isn't NHL ready right now but just needs to develop a bit more. It seems they are trying to rush his development and so far it's not going so well. I like Boqvist and think he will be a top 2 defender in the future but not right now and personally not by working with this coach. I think for him to truly thrive he should have spent the entire season in the AHL and have much more freedom to make mistakes and learn from them so when he is finally brought up he could give Hughes and run for his money.

Lets Cut Him Some Slack
With the Hawks playing the Panthers tonight, I want to get something off my chest. A few weeks ago I went to a Blackhawks game and at the start of it when they announced Jeremy Colliton's name, the whole crowd booed, including myself. However after the noise died down I began to feel sorry for the dude. Before that game I didn't give it one thought about it. I hated the fact that he was brought in and Quenneville was left packing his bags. Now I give Colliton a lot of crap, some of which may be a bit called for, but a large majority of it was not. He gets a ton of crap from the fans for something that wasn't even his fault. Bowman has been sniping at Coach Q for quite a while and the season prior was just the reason Bowman needed to fire him. Colliton was just the guy who jumped at the chance to be the head coach of an NHL team. Let;s face it, if we were in his situation we probably make the same situation. Personally I don't like Colliton, I think the main reason he got his position was because he probably is buddies with Bowman, an not really happy with how he performs as a coach and I really just don't respect him. However that could change over time. Do I think he could be better than Quenneville, no I don't think so, but I do believe that he doesn't deserve the hate as he gets.

He doesn't suck. I will admit that it seems that his stats have declined but he could but he is very physical and is decent at blocking shots which is what our defense fails to do as Lehner/Crawford face between 40-55 shots a game. Acquiring Subban would fill the void in our defense that became more noticeable after Hjalmersson was traded away with the added bonus that he could put up more points than Hjalmerson.
