Retention would be a must if Connolly is an option. Which I dont mind him as an option for our top 6 but simply cant be at 3.5 million.

Pittsburgh should 100% not do the Buffalo trade. Skinner has been a healthy scratch for a reason and Dumo is still a top pairing dman.

Not a bad deal for Pens but $+term on his contract doesnt make much sense when they are going to be very close next season already.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Franchise players are franchise players. The fact that franchise goalies almost never get traded isn't an accident. What do you think that Tampa would ask for Andrei Vassilevskiy? And he is 50% more expensive. What do you think Winnipeg would ask for Connor Hellebuyck?
This idea that franchise goalies don't merit high returns arises out of the idea that franchise goalies aren't much different from run-of-the-mill netminders, and frequently surfaces in comments like "They would be lucky to get a first and a decent goalie prospect" for someone like John Gibson. If that were true, guys like Jordan Binnington and Darcy Kuemper and Carter Hart would be flying around the NHL like seagulls at the beach.</div></div>
I dont disagree, but asking for a top 10 left winger in the nhl and a stud young top 4 D signed to reasonable term is a non starter for really any team id think.

EYE ON TDL
Pittsburgh trade makes no sense for Pittsburgh. Bones would be a nice add if he comes cheaper. Ceci has been great this season and picks for this team are at a premium rn with Hextall being named the new GM. Cole, while great in Pittsburgh in his time here, was not a player that Sullivan seemed to like at the end so adding him back doesnt make sense. Also the pens have 5 nhl caliber LD.

None of the pieces in your trade other than Poulin (with the possible exception of Jarry as a temporary but inadequate replacement for Gibson) interest us.</div></div>
That is an outrageous ask. Guentzel, imo at least, has quite a bit more value than Gibby alone. Marino has had a rough start to the season but is still projected as a long term solution for Pittsburgh's top pair RD.

Ya that was specifically why I didnt play Ceci. Czuczman is probably there next best option tho. Not sure Maniscalco is quite ready.

Values
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>Guentzel should be in the LW.
Sceviour doesn't have negative value. He'd a RD kind of guy. He's on a 1 year day and that cap hit is 0 when sent down to the AHL. So he doesn't really have a "negative" value.
The same might be said about Ceci. 1 year deal, almost all of that cap hit is AHL swallowed.
That Matheson contract though, that might be a problem.</div></div>
Guentzel was a toughy. I think they could move him if they feel they are getting an amazing offer but I think it is incredibly unlikely. As for Sceviour and Ceci, I dont believe the cap for ahl would be 0 but would be minimal. I put them in negative because they are likely not claimed on waivers if they were put on waivers.

Yes they have been but they also shut Philly down too. Don't have the numbers but they were dominant possession wise.

My Take On Roslovic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tsyls</b></div><div>Roslovic is a skilled player that’s been jammed up by Jets coach Paul Maurice. He had a killer year in the AHL playing C, and when he came up, Maurice plugged him onto 3RW with two guys who can’t score to save their lives. I think his numbers and stats are deceiving. He realistically probably should be a 2RW right now, but with Jets stacked on the wing and maurices reluctance to play him at C. He never got a fair opportunity. He’s been played with Lowry and copp like his whole career, and they are the biggest stone hands I’ve ever seen. Their line also usually plays against the top line of the other team. Roslovic has a really good two way game, while also being an offensive threat with untapped offensive potential.</div></div>
In 180 career games, he has a 44.8% faceoff win percentage. That is quite awful. He also starts the majority of his shifts in the offensive zone. Linemates could be a valid argument as I do not know the Jets roster as well as others but he has been used in an offensive role for the most part.

My Take On Roslovic
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JordanFerreira99</b></div><div>Think he can add a lot of depth in our top-9. 71 games played last year and was 12-17-29. Decent numbers for a player who played 3rd line minutes. Also just about to turn 24, so age is still on his side. Haven't really watched him to know his overall game though.</div></div>
I would agree that his offense isn't bad(29 pts in 71 gms with around 15 mins avg TOI), but he started the majority of his shifts in the offensive zone. And traditionally, our bottom six plays more of a defensive role. Our third line is a shutdown line right now, I don't see the harm in leaving it as is for now and I doubt he would want to play 4th line minutes.

My thing is that I don't believe POJ will be an NHL defenseman, and certainly don't believe he will be in Pittsburgh based on their current defense. Because of that I value him more towards a 4th rounder while others value him around a 2nd rounder.
