1. $2.5mx6yrs is the rumored deal that Cizikas has agreed to. I personally wouldn’t give him 6 years but also wouldn’t be mad if it kept his AAV down.

2. There are no quality LD left in Free Agency and trading for one would involve losing one of our forwards (because of cap and value reasons). Chara is still effective as a defensive-defenseman and he would pair great with Dobson who is young and becoming a quality 2-way RHD.

I made trades that would benefit the capitals either way. Rakell can be easily moved for picks/prospects because of his contract. As for Brodin, the Capitals dont give up too much for a player that they need.

This year, no one cares about who’s playing, we just want to watch hockey. Maybe the NHL loses a few thousand viewers this year, but in the long haul it will work for them.

Yes I’m jealous (I’m an islanders fan), but any fan can realize that the NHL is looking to get as much money as possible right now. The NHL lost billions of dollars from the pandemic, so they need to get it back.
