<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jhook1</b></div><div>Considering the return that Stone got was pretty bad and considering we got a first rounder and a regressed second round prospect was an absolute steal on BM's part and we basically got a 6th for dumping that dumpster fire schene and an unneeded 7th, as far as the draft goes I hope to god we draft a centre with our first pick but I have the strongest hunch that we are going to draft Broberg because he's a Swede and will "Immediately fit in" with Lindholm, Silfverberg and Rakell but pray to god we somehow win the draft lottery and get Hughes lmao</div></div>
Doubt it. I think the lack of an elite C coming through is pretty apparent. Even BM can see that and seems to be embracing the tank by moving Montour, resting roster players and playing the kids instead.
I’m pretty optimistic. I think RC was the main problem in ANA and I blame BM for hiring him back in the first place. Felt sick hearing that news. Glad he’s gone, but I hope Murray is careful with who he picks as HC next. We need something younger, who will implement a modern strategy, and who can read and react on the fly. We haven’t had someone like that in a long time.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>I don’t mind the Montour trade but like you I thought something like that would have waited until the draft and maybe caused a bidding war but from what I’ve read Guhle is as good of a skater as Montour and has been pretty good in the A plus what can hopefully be an early-mid 20s pick. With MDZ they turned a 7th into a 6th for Schenn which isn’t bad.
I’m not as high as you are on the C depth in the organization. It’s Steel and Lundestrom. Idk how Lundestrom is doing since he went back to Sweden but imo they probly end up being pretty good #2 and #3 C but there’s isn’t anyone else coming down the middle.
As for D, they’re a little thin but they have a top 3 to build around for hopefully at least 5 seasons plus Gibson.
I’m might be optimistic but I’m hoping they make decent moves in the offseason to at least compete for a playoff spot next year and then really go after in 2-3 seasons when Steel, Terry, Jones, Comtois and Lundestrom become legit nhl regulars. I’m also curious if they move Henrique if they can make a play for a big fish this offseason or next.</div></div>
Agree on Steel and Lundestrom. Hence, I hope we get a top 5, preferably top 3 pick in this years draft. We desperately need an elite talent coming through at C. If get one of Hughes, Cozens or Dach, I think that’s a pretty solid young core. Wouldn’t mind seeing a tank next year too though to try and pick up a top D talent. I like Lindholm and think he’s elite defensively, but he’s not an elite player. More of a Vlasic than a Weber. Aside from a potentially elite 1C, I think we lack a potentially elite 1D too.

If anyones complaining about Guhle, hes going to shut them up pretty fast. Great skater, should have been with the Sabres this year but had a slow camp. He wont make that mistake again

The fact that you would even consider trading away Adam Henrique, a star third liner and penalty kill specialist, to a team that the last thing they need is another center. Maybe for a 1st round pick but you know gosh darn well that they wouldn't trade that bad boy for another center. Throwing in a 3rd rounder makes it worse because you clearly wanted that for compensation considering that it's coming from 2021, three years down the road. I don't even want to look at that Lightning trade. This doesn't even make sense. The last thing that powerhouse of a team needs is another aging winger, Callahan has got enough to do. Also that Silver Bird guy isn't worth a 1st to Tampa, because although it might be a late one, that team still needs to draft young talent. Throwing in Adam Erne was a joke as well since he's outplaying Silverbird in the plus minus category in LESS games. I would try to move that stud Kesler because he can't get off the injured reserve because Old Man Kesboss woke up on the wrong side of the bed. That stud Michael Delzaster is also worth at least three 1st round picks, I would've moved him to the Boston Bruins in 2015 for those back to back to back picks. If you're gonna go all on in "#CrappoForKakko," at least make some realistic trades. Anaheim needs anything right now, even Peter Chiarelli could ruin this team enough before the trade deadline so Geezer Gary B-Man would feel sorry and give you compensatory Top 5 picks at the 2019 draft. This isn't 1992 anymore, the Ducks are a thing of the past and need to relocate to Quebec City or even Atlanta. Avery out.</div></div>

High floor, low ceiling is what I'm getting. Similar to picks like Lindholm and Rakell, which seemed sleepy and safe at the time, but our scouts sniffed out some untapped upside that I'm hoping Lundestrom will come to show as well.

Because with Dal Colle, you are probably getting something similar to Ritchie anyway. A Top 10 pick from the 2014 draft who is underwhelming their lofty pre-draft expectations. Ducks need younger talent in the pipeline. Not saying Dal Colle can't turn things around, but Ducks swapping out Ritchie for another non-speedster project doesn't really help nor fit into the roster.

I think the reason you trade Petterson is exactly because he isn't a top four D. He won't pass up the four ahead of him and the defensemen below him need a shot as well (espcially Laarson). You package him with Ritchie to recoup some value. I don't think realistically Ritchie gets moved either, but if Murray really wants to get faster and more disciplined, he has to move on from one of the slower players who takes bad penalties. With Eaves coming back and Terry in line for some playing time, moving Ritchie helps with the cap to get some younger players in like Jones. There just isn't enough forward spots keeping Ritchie. I think Brown is the 4th line player the Ducks need. Not Ritchie.

No way Hoffman goes for that. But this would be an incredible stunt by "the pirate" Bob Murray, as Brian Burke calls him. I doubt they get rid of the "ironman" after just resigning him to a new term. The only way the Hoffman deal works, is if you have another Bobby Ryan in the deal. Where I doubt Ottawa jumps on giving their high first rounder, for a first rounder in the 20th position. But cool ideas here!

I think keeping Max Jones is the better play long-term tbh. I think Ho-Sang has more value than Ritchie at the moment, maybe swap the 5th/4th for a 4th/3rd?
I like the buy low on Domi, but I think other teams would offer more.

Murray didn’t use his 1st to get Kane at the deadline so I highly doubt he trades 1st and 3rd at the draft. Also Eaves will be back for the start of next season based off of exit interviews today. Hurt his shoulder rehabbing form his condition and that’s why he didn’t come back at the end of season.

Montreal can get more for Pacioretty retained at 50% and/or extended.
