Berger on and on
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>Why not sign Bergeron to $775k and give him $1,745,000 in very easily performance bonuses?</div></div>
not interested in doing the bonuses ****. carryover bonuses are a bad idea. end up with a cap hit without a name on the roster

if bergeron returns again
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>Boston could buy Riley out and his hit next year would be $333k. Seems more logical than trading him with an asset when it would lower the value.</div></div>
The year after its over 1 million. Bad idea
The whole point is to get his money off the books, not stretch it out for 2 more years

if they win the cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Aussie_Blackhawk</b></div><div>Your not wrong, we do suck, so what does giving up a 2nd for a guy who will literally does nothing to improve our chance of winning achieve? The only value would be if you added a player like Lysell to take on the cap dump.
BOS wont want to lose their top prospect and Hawks don't want to pay for a cap dump (in CHI eyes). Stalemate</div></div>
What? Bad teams need to add good players to win. Hall is a good player. He'd probably be a 1st liner on the suck bag Chicago.

if they win the cup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawksguy81</b></div><div>Hawks decline both of those trades. They are nowhere near the point where they are going to trade away 2nd round picks for a couple of one year rentals. And I doubt Hall waives for Chicago anyway.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JK74</b></div><div>With all due respect, why in the world would a rebuilding team trade draft capital for veteran players? The point is to accumulate prospects in hopes of building from within. And before you say they can be flipped at next season's deadline, let me remind you this is potentially the deepest draft we'll see in a while.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Not any respect for players M NTC.s.... Hall looks like he isn't worth his contract so why are teams paying for him. And you can be sure both Ullmark and Hall would only have teams that have no cap on their trade list.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Aussie_Blackhawk</b></div><div>Will give you TBL 2nd for Grzelcyk if you add Lysell.
Hall deal is a non-starter due to the NTC and the fact we are rebuilding and the draft capital is far greater value then the proposed rental.</div></div>
Hall trade is just an idea, but if it can't get done its no biggie. Keep him and don't sign Bertuzzi, money's basically a wash.
I doubt he actually has a full NMC btw.
As for Chicago, they suck ass, have a **** ton of cap room, and not enough good players. Who says any deal would be a "rental?" They could ya know, sign them to contracts.

Pump and Dump
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Random2152</b></div><div>Lmao that Ullmark trade is ruthless</div></div>
How so?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DefenseFirst</b></div><div>Would expect more for ullmark and grzelcyk</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DLussier</b></div><div>Ullmark is probably worth a 1st, roster player, prospect.
Gryz probably with 2 2's
Also no reason to pay to dump Reilly, his buyout cost is $333,333.
Id also dump Hall to use the money to resign Bertuzzi (3yrs/$5M)
Also Kyle Keyser gets less and Bussi is the back up to Swayman.</div></div>
Point of the trades is to demonstrate the targeted returns. Floor, not ceiling.
Anything more would be a bonus.
Buyout of Reilly is irresponsible.
1.3 mil hit the year after for nothing.
I'd gladly give him away for free.
But to clear his cap hit is worth a useless draft pick.
As for Keyser, he's better than Bussi. A mil is still cheap for a backup.
Bussi will never work in the NHL. Backwards goalie.

Bergeron retires
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dopplsan</b></div><div>Love Foligno, but it's gonna cost more for CBJ to take his contract.</div></div>
Yeah but you get the idea. Ideally he's just a paper trade so he can retire with Columbus. Then the contract doesn't even matter.
He's pretty old, doesn't score, and quite slow. The Bruins would be idiots to bring him back for another season with the 3.8 million cap hit.

Looking at the money the team has committed for next season, I think its clear they already know Bergeron is done.
Can't see how they can resign him, unless its for a very low cap hit. And the fact that he's still unsigned makes it obvious to me he's retiring.
He gets hurt constantly. He's still gotta have another surgery on his nose after the season ends. He's had a long, great career. Love him.

Come Home Hanifin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Not remotely available. Certainly not for that</div></div>
Eh I disagree. Grizz has better stats and costs less, so adding DeBrusk (or another prospect like Beecher/Studnicka) and a 1st rounder would probably get it done.
Was Dan Vladar really worth a 3rd round pick? No. But Calgary did it anyway. Its impossible for us to know what exactly they'd want in return. Just a reasonable guess.
And Hanifin has been on the trade block before and is coming off of surgery. Its not like Calgary are wedded to the guy. Just needs the right offer.

I was just using NJ as a placeholder for the idea to get rid of Moore for nothing in return. Some one with cap room would take him.
