Zero chance this happens unless theres at the very least a 1st round pick thrown in for Kreider. JD/Gorton are going to get one for him no matter where they go. Especially if theyre retaining salary.

Hanks not going anywhere. And there is no point in NYR trading for Barrie and his 5.5 cap hit when they have DeAngelo who's a RFA and Fox who if it wasnt for Makar and Quinn dominating, would be leading the race for the calder.

"ok dman" ....lol try the most underrated dman in the league. Guy posts a positive plus/minus despite having a pylon as a partner every year no matter who it is.

Fair value?
McDonagh is going to cost you way more than that. Waaaaay more. Trading McD for Maatta and a 1st rounder isnt going to help the team more than it will hurt them. Think about it, Olli Maatta or Brady Skjei would be their best defenseman at that point...thats terrible for NYR.

2017-2018 Deadline
This seems pretty fair and realistic to me. Hitchcock gets his boy, NYR gets a young NHL ready player who could use a change of scenery, however I think the conditional 4th is a little much for the Grabner deal. I think a straight up 1st can get it done.

All in for Dahlin
Overpaying for Dahlin also 5M for Kevin Hayes?!? He hasnt ever put up 20 goals or scored more than 50 points in a season. Also there's no way Kovalchuk wont get at least 4 mil. Grabner will get over 3M.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div>That’s what they’re asking. But no team is gonna pay that. Not a chance. What did Eric staal go for a couple deadlines ago? Two seconds and a prospect. So it’ll be a similar haul to that</div></div>
Rick Nash can play in all situations and has been pretty damn good in the playoffs the last couple years. He's worth more and younger than Eric Staal who didnt even have 10 goals by the deadline 2 years ago. For a team that wants to make a deep run and win a cup, Nash is the perfect cherry on top. NYR will get what they're asking for despite what fans think.

we have säteri so we don't need luongo
I actually don't think this is THAT bad. While Luongo is old now, he would still be the best goalie on Philly's roster however you would need to include a pick at least in this deal for Simmonds.

NYR Trade deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brian2016</b></div><div>Yeah Hanzal brought a first rounder. How'd that work out for MIN? One point in the playoffs! Than he was gone to DAL where he has 9 points in 34 games this season. Teams have learned their lessons. Why pay huge for a rental unless you have a legit shot at the Cup? BTW, Grabner has 5 points in his last 18 games. He's been useless when the Rangers needed him most.
You completely underestimate the value of a 1st round pick. The Caps traded a first rounder for Kevin Shattenkirk: the most sought after pending free agent of last season. Nash and Grabner are far far down the list from where Shattenkirk was.</div></div>
You understand the Rangers are plagued with injuries and the entire team has been struggling right? Grabner has been one of the only guys actually doing something! You're forgetting to mention Shattenkirk went for 2 prospects, a conditional pick, a 1st, and a 2nd. Thats a lot for a rental Kevin Shattenkirk. The Aves have 2 1st rounders (one being conditional with Ottawa) so I dont think its too insane to move it for a first. But you're going to seriously tell me Rick Nash isn't going to net a 1st rounder? You're nuts.

Its gonna cost ya more than a 1st rounder. You'll have to include a prospect at the very least especially with NYR retaining salary. Grabner will go for a 1st alone probably. Nash, no way.

grabner
Rangers wont take anything less than a 1st rounder for Grabner. However I personally love the idea of acquiring Kylington in a package for him. Maaaaybe they'd take Kylington and a 2nd rounder. NYR doesnt need McDonald though. NYR has their G of the future in the KHL currently and fall back plan in Huska. Im gonna give ya a 3 because its not terrible, but its not what the Rangers are looking for. Also because you dont know if Grabner is going to sign an extension with CGY. Rumors have it both him and Nash are going to sign back with NYR in the summer.

Rick Nash
You're gonna need to trade more than Roussel and Ritchie for Nash. The Rangers want a 1st rounder, a top prospect, and a NHL ready player. Especially if they're retaining salary. Not 2 bottom 6 forwards and a 1st rounder. Roussel, a 1st, and a prospect may work.

NYR Trade deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brian2016</b></div><div>Why would COL give up a first rounder, which could easily be a lottery pick for Grabner? Hello? He's a rental! He'd be a 3rd line Winger at best playing 12 minutes per night. Don't be so taken in by Grabner's goal total. Very few of them have come in meaningful situations. A lot of empty netters and garbage time. At best, Grabner will garner 2nd round pick. Remember, he's a UFA on July 1st, 2018. COL will not be in the rental market anyway. Even Rick Nash probably won't bring a first round pick.</div></div>
Dude. No. I watch every single Rangers game. He hasnt even scored that many ENG's. His goals are 5 on 5 in key situations. He scores the first goal of the game a lot actually. He has 2 GWG's and 1 of our only 3 SHG's of the year. Guy even has a hat trick this year. One of those being an ENG but 3 goals in a game is 3 goals in a game. Colorado's pick has no chance of being a lottery pick they're only 1 point out of the wild card and 2 out of their division with games in hand. They're going to be in the playoffs. Also you're absolutely nuts if you think Nash wont bring in a first rounder. Martin ******* Hanzal got a first rounder.

NYR Trade deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Icegirl</b></div><div>Desharnais and Holden deals are fair. Grabner deal has the right value imo, but I'm not sure COL is the best fit for him. Nash trade is very lopsided; realistically he wouldn't (or at least shouldn't) get close to that. SJ hopefully learned their lesson with the Hansen trade.</div></div>
According to McKenzie NYR wants what Hanzal went for and what the price tag for Kane is: a 1st rounder, a top prospect, and a roster player. Looking at the stats on the Sharks page it seemed like Donskoi for Rick Nash (who they have a good chance at bringing back in the offseason because of relationship with Joe Thorton) seemed the most reasonable of their rostered players. Also regarding Grabner, I think its a great deal for the Avalanche. They get a veteran with playoff experience who would be 2nd on their team in goals and can kill penalties. His speed is just straight up deadly in any situation. Perfect piece to that young team who could make them really dangerous.
