<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>Oh dear God, another Joey Anderson trade.....
I could see OTT 3rd being of interest, but what does Joey Anderson add to that offer?
As for Meier, SJS would take that (even though Kerfoot offers them nothing as an ecpiring UFA and Robertsons value is at a low point) but with 3 mil retnetion this year and 5mil retention for the next 2 years, thats worth about a 1st and 3rd by itself, so its Meier for low picks in the round 1st and 3rd?</div></div>
Anderson has 2 less goals than Puljujarvi in 40 less games. Edmonton is obviously going to make a deadline deal so having Anderson for 750K helps their depth and clears cap.
As for the Meier deal I think it's close. Horvat was just dealt with retention for a protected 1st, borderline cap dump, and a prospect. 2 1sts, a 2nd, 3rd, Robertson, and potential to retain and flip Kerfoot to a contender for another 2nd/3rd for 1.5 seasons of Meier seems like tidy work. Especially when that cap space is of no use to SJ next season anyways.

I understand the interest in excluding Knies, but probably not realistic to not include at least 1 legit prospect (Robertson is now an NHLer in my mind, for better or worse)</div></div>
People will never agree on value but I think the Sharks would increase the return exponentially if they were able to sign Meier for an extra year or two and then retain.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NDoody</b></div><div>lol if only that worked.
I am sure the Sharks would consider the Meier trade but how would this work for Leafs, how are they going to afford to resign him this summer, his QO is 10M and I would think his asking price is at least 8 per over a long-term deal. Adding a 3 M 4th liner doesn't help either.</div></div>
That's a problem for future Leafs GM Bruce Boudreau to figure out.

No replies in the 1st 10 min. That means this trade has been officially faxed to NHL HQ for approval. Cheers.

What our plan should be
Puljujarvi will likely cost next to nothing. Oilers need to clear cap for when Kane returns, and Puljujarvi hasn't done anything to increase his value this season. Plus he's $3M.

The money is irrelevant to Arizona. They barely get to the floor every season, and it's not like they're planning on contending any time soon. I haven't seen an offer on this sub that beats Knies, 1st, 3rd, 3rd. Most people are trying to send back a cap dump with a 1st and top prospect.

I've seen you post that the Canucks wouldn't do Garland for Nylander straight up before. I posted that because you have no life and respond to every post with a Canucks player within the hour and complain.
Also funny how Canucks fans said they wouldn't trade Miller for the 2nd pick meanwhile Lou chose to acquire Romanov over Miller for the Isles 1st round pick.
Miller isn't worth anywhere close to what Canucks fans think he is so I didn't want to have to respond to people like you that are delusional.

Islanders traded for Romanov over Miller. His value is greatly exaggerated. Enjoy keeping him and paying 9M per if it comes to that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>The whole premise behind the presumed idea that Ottawa would consider trading Matt Murray to Toronto is that the Senators would save money, either in cap or actual cash or both (almost certainly the latter). But a Muzzin-for-Murray-with-50%-retention deal is a money loser for Ottawa on both counts. And the rest of the trade becomes Brown and Brannstrom for Kerfoot, which just compounds the inequity.
Right now Ottawa has a cap hit of $6.25 million and owes Murray $15 million over two seasons.
This deal would result in Ottawa having increased its cap hit to $8.75 million (Muzzin's $5.625 million and Murray's half-hit of $3.125 million) and it would owe the two of them $15.5 million (Muzzin's $8 million and half of Murray's $15 million).
Even Dorian can't be that stupid. SOMEBODY in that front office has a calculator, even if it says "Texas Instruments."</div></div>
Kerfoot is owned like 500K and Muzzin is owed 2M a season while his cap hit is 5.6

Leafs have Robertson for when Drouin gets injured.
Leafs can also just flip Mrazek and a pick for Murray at 50% if the Devils really think they're going to keep Campbell, Blackwood, and send Daws to the minors.
