I'd be very satisfied with this trade, and in fact, expect it, or something similar.
Now if you want to see a truly horrible trade, I present to you Forbes' proposed trade:

I don’t care about the leafs line up, the point is any team could have had him for free, nobody took him. Why would San Jose give away a productive player for that?

We shall see, but agreed it's likely. It could work out really poorly for the Sharks if STL gets lucky in the lotto and then does well the following year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>First, I do not know why so many Sharks fans continue to contest this. This is standard fare in scouting world.
Second, that Sheng Peng article has been echo’ed by other Sharks observers and referenced many times by Sharks fans on ACGM. If you want to start pushing back on them, be my guest. But when a Devils fan starts using the sources that Sharks want to fans use, don’t cry to us.</div></div>
I have pushed back on them many times. I have corrected a few specifically on Holtz. (Anybody who actually believes Nemec is a B prospects isn't worth the effort)
My point is if you KNOW the "Sharks see Nemec is a B prospect" thing is obviously false, why do you continue to push it?

Why? He's the best player on the market and Buffalo has the depth in their farm. Sharks should absolutely be getting top prospects back for Timo. Olof is quite possibly the most one dimensional player in the NHL and has a fairly high cap hit and SJ has zero interest in him. Krebs is not the prospect that the Sharks are looking for either.

Berggren-Kasper-Raymond
Mazur-Copp-Soderblom
Zadina-Veleno-Hanas
Seider-Edvinnson
Hronek-Wallinder
Walman-Maatta

But mostly, why do leaf fans throw a bunch of useless stuff into trades, like out of date cans of soup from the back of the cupboard.
Seriously what does SDA and Kerfoot add to this trade, and why would SJ take on five contracts. Take out those 2 and its actually a quality offer: 2 good, almost high level prospects, one broken prospect who might garner a 3rd on his own and a 1st, 3rd, 4th over the next 2 years, is a a quality offer.
But SDA and Kerfoot offer negative value to SJ, so you're adding a 4th or robertson just to take on those 2, lessening the deal.
And while you're not asking for retention, you're blindly hoping Murray stays on LTIR for the rest of the season AND that samsonov can stay consistent.</div></div>
this was mostly to show how stupid some "insiders" are that they think that would get a 40 goal scorer, ppg winger who is a RFA.

No doubt pushing a narrative that Meier could be had at similar cost to be bitter, which in reality probably won't be the case. Meier will cost more.</div></div>
Quite. I've enjoyed the pile on that he's been getting from twitter...saw a couple from him the other day...first one was from a week or two ago that said something along the lines of "ROR is exactly the kind of player that Toronto needs!", then, following the trade, he said something like "Oh yeah, ROR is wrong for the Leafs and they overpaid, and it's a bad trade, blah blah blah". Clown show.
