Description
Draft pick doesn't win the lottery in this scenario obviously, more like #7/8. Blues also replace the coaching staff to further shake things up in the room.

Don’t take too seriously.

I don't actually think he'll make it to the Summer, but if he does, gotta think Army might be in on him.

Definitely the draft. That pick wouldn't be considered available until after the lottery.

Meier will be gone by then, but we could put lottery protection on it.

I don't think they would go for it with lottery protection, because that pick could turn into a 2024 #32 OVR (obviously not likely, just saying worst case scenario for them). But i agree, he will be dealt by the deadline and this deal doesn't happen. Just playing with scenarios.

I guess so, but I am sure they could find conditions that would work. Chances of blues winning the lottery are like 10% overall so very unlikely that it would be a problem anyways

Don't agree. We deal the 1st for Meier if it's only #7/8. The other two firsts would be late so that's any easy take for Chychrun and cap dumped. Remember this is at the draft so we have context to what the picks would be. I would take Parayko for Bouchard easily then a project in Poolparty + a 2nd is a fine return for Barbashev.

I like most of these changes. I might favor keeping Barbashev over O'Reilly tho

We shall see, but agreed it's likely. It could work out really poorly for the Sharks if STL gets lucky in the lotto and then does well the following year.

that would be so so stupid
get a young guy who can lead and grow with this team, meier is 26 young but needing a huge payday, maybe one of the firsts in the 20 range would be fine

This is the difference between still going with what we have or full rebuilding. I’m fine with either side but this would be a competitive roster. Whoever we get for that non-lottery pick will be good for the future, but the difference between a top-4 pick and a 7/8 pick is pretty wide.
