Duclair did nothing to impede Bob's ability to slide across the crease and try to stop Cirelli. And Cirelli didnt even interfere with Bob. I think he sold on both of those plays, and the decisions were weak. Either way you can't blame the refs. Sucks and is annoying but can't blame them. But this series wasn't 4-1. Game of inches and we just got some bad breaks and outcomes. Powerplay definitely did let us down for the most part. If we would've capitalized on just 2-3 more of them total throughout the series, we might've been up 3-2. But again, game of inches haha.</div></div>
100% the series ended on a question mark. But Florida won the series in the big moments prior. When Bob made that insane save part of me died, those are the kind of saves your put in Stanley Cup montages.

Thoughts on the Cirelli non goal.
And the Duclair non goal.
I think the Duclair one is fair enough. But also think, if I goalie is trying to reach around a players leg to get to a puck, do they get the benefit of they don't get it? Is the player supposed to let the goalie just reach out and cover?
The Cirelli goal, looked fishy, it's a net front battle and looks like Bob is initiating contact to get a call. But I'm aware of my biases so I'm conflicted.
Panthers won this series, but it was close. Tampa's 4-1 loss and Toronto's inevitable 4-1 loss are very different.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyScotty</b></div><div>Yeah they have about $10 mil and 2-3 players/positions to fill. Stamkos vs Duclair seems obvious unless Stammer takes a 8x$5mil type deal (knowing he won't play 8 years) but that still leaves their D with the same group (less Dumba).
If they do move on from Stamkos they have some young wing prospects that might get a look (Duke, Howard, Goncalves, Gauthier at the top of the list).
Can't imagine Stamkos leaving but if he went to Toronto; holy crap Leaf-land would explode</div></div>
D same group but add Sergachev. He only played 34 games. Lilliberg showed he can at least hang and Crozier wasn't terrible. They could go into next season
Hedman Sergy Cernak Lilliberg Perbix Crozier and a healthy Vasy and stay in the mix then see what the can do come trade deadline.
Wouldn't be surprised if they add a TJ Brodie type as a reclamation project. JBB loves his projects.
You gotta bring stammer back. He was their best forward this series and came up with some really big plays defensively too. Laid the body. Lead by example. not to mention he's a 40goal scorer. There isn't anyone in this group that could lead as well as him so if you let him walk you're putting your team back a ways.
One or two if those guys you mentioned will mix in for sure. Duke has got Tampa forward written all over him.

They didn't outplay Toronto in game 4... It was from sustained waves of pressure that had Toronto get their goals (The type of penalties TBL took suggest that).
It's revisionists history to suggest otherwise... Vasy was a brick wall, like how Swayman is now... Toronto figured out how to beat that brick wall by testing him from different locations and that's when the gates opened.</div></div>
Now who's the revisionist. Vasy was not good last year. Credit to Toronto they figured him out, but he was off.

Not sure how you spend this much time on a hockey forum and not know how score effects work. As for the type of goal, that's playoffs dude. If you just go on pretty goals you don't get out of the first round.
Tampa was better Leafs just came in clutch for the only time in their recent history. Turns out it was a blip not a break of the trend. But I get it, it's the only time your team has seen any success and you wanna defend it, that's cool.

While down 2 goals the leafs were well above 50% chance to win game for almost entire third period because they had persistent possession/chances.
Game 2-3 Toronto vastly outplayed Boston. Vastly.
Game 4 - fairly even tilt, still leafs outplaying Boston similar to g1.
</div></div>
Thing is, there have been multiple times in this series the Leafs best players have had the game in their stick and in those moments they have failed to capitalize. It doesn't matter how close you are over the course of the game/series of you don't win the big moments.
Last year, Tampa was better than the Leafs for the whole first series. But they lost the big moments.
Year before the Leafs were better than tampa for most of the series, but didnt capitalize on the big moments.
The Leafs best players are losing the big moments and that's why they're losing the series.

Stamkos has grown into a amazing leader. If you let him walk with no real option for replacement (Hedman on his final year?) this team loses more than just a 40goal scorer.
He's the only one scoring in the playoffs too.
