For the Record I love JP and I want him traded because he deserves a fresh start, I want to see him Succeed but I just feel like it wont happen here in EDM, CBJ seems like a good fit with Laine and Jarmo being Finnish

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Zmach</b></div><div>i think it would be a game changer because he can play 25 minutes a game. They could jig the pairings to have a shutdown pairing with gavrikov and ceci and then play nurse and another when mcdavid is on the ice and they need a more offensive pairing.</div></div>
And Giving up Kulak wouldn't make any sense as if he slides down to third pair we can just Bombard other teams with 3 strong left side guys, Kulak is just an average guy on 2nd pair but throw him on the third and thats one of the best 3LD in the league

CBJ also have a perfectly good Nyquist available (he’s a left shot, but has played on the right side). Also have Bemstrom and Foudy who could be adds.
I find myself pushing for JP if only for the narrative of “CBJ picked 3rd in 2016, end up with 2nd and 4th.”</div></div>
I also wanna see JP with a change of Scenery, which may benefit him massively

I dont see a problem with the oilers adding like a 2024 4th to the trade to make things work

I wouldn't mind giving up Broberg either but with all of the Oilers D Problems having a big guy who can skate really well coming down the pipeline I personally wouldnt move him, especially when we do have a few young winger prospects

That was my train of thought, Pulji is a 1 year commitment, Barrie is 2 years, vs Ekholm being 4 Years, Plus Barrie has actually been playing great lately

Oilers would probably want retention for that trade, but value wise its pretty good, saves our 2023 and 2024 1sts for acquiring a D-Man

I think when Bouchard hits his stride he's going to be an absolute stud and elevate that top pairing, Broberg has size and Skating and will help the Top 4 but currently the leafs D is miles ahead

Why are Devils fans mad at Severson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Severson made a bad play a couple of games ago (turnover at blueline) that lead to an odd-man rush and a goal against. It stunk. But the bigger picture is that there is a group of Devils fans that have hated Severson, Hischier, and a couple of others….and they can be quite noisy on social media. So any time one of those guys does anything wrong, it seems to get amplified.
Severson has been prone to the occasional WTF mistake ever since he arrived in NHL. His own goal vs San Jose, his 2-on-1 defending against the leafs, the turnover the other night. But those events = trees. The rest of his resume = forest. He has been one of the better puck movers in last few years, especially d-zone exits and passing through neutral zone. He has played well defensively 5v5, especially when paired with a partner whose strength is d-zone denial (ie, Siegenthaler, Greene). He does well in possession style system (specifically getting pucks out of zone and onto puck carriers sticks). And he can run PP if needed (as we saw last year with Dougie out).
Also, useful to note his usage has changed a lot with a healthy Hamilton and Marino in lineup. Fewer PP minutes and less offensive opportunities. But his GF/60 rates haven’t really slipped.
We’d be lucky if he returned a package like Bourgault/1st. He probably gets a good prospect or late 1st if we moved him though. RD market can get a little frothy at times, so maybe a bit more.</div></div>
So is Sevo good at in-zone Defense? Cause he would work well next to a guy like Nurse who is good at Rush defense but sucks at breakout passes and In-Zone defense
