Deadline Day Final Prediction
I think the Kreider trade is close, maybe a lesser valued prospect instead of Kaut (I am thinking Ranta, at best Bowers).
Fast could be up to a 2nd someone said, so maybe a condition to upgrade to a 2nd rounder? We'll see.

It just makes little sense imo. If they want 3 goalies for a run they could get a cheap alternative and have that alternative off the books at the end of the season.

I think Commodore is playing everyone. To me, makes little sense for the Avs unless Grubauer is done for year and Sakic was confident that he could deal Henrik in the fall. With Francouz's extension it makes the rumor seem unlikely.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brian2016</b></div><div>I would prefer the COL or STL trade. The last thing the Rangers wanna do is risk Kreider signing in the Metro long term. The deal from CAR or NYI would need to be substantially better than a deal out west, imo.</div></div>
There's a good chance that regardless of where he's traded, he does not re-sign with said team and signs in the metro (even if the team he is traded to is in the metro). In other words, NYR should take the best deal they get. However, I do agree with you to some extent when it comes to NYI. I think Lou would have to pay a much larger price for Kreider than anyone else (which is why I think NYI do not acquire Kreider at the deadline).

If they want Kreider they would have to. Rest of their prospects are not as attractive. Not saying that they will do it; but I am saying that in terms of value it's the closest to what I think the outcome will be (if traded). St Louis is looking less likely because of cap situations and difficulty moving larger contracts to make room for Kreider, as Doug Armstrong recently said.

Some of these are little high, and some are a little low for various reasons. The closest I think would be Washington, but take out Protas for a conditional pick.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Noah93_</b></div><div>Yes from rangers</div></div>
Actually I think no from Rangers. Islanders would have to pay a premium to get Kreider from their rivals, the Rangers. Other teams that are interested can likely match this offer, and if that is the case, the Rangers would opt to trade with said other teams. It's why I would heavily doubt the Rangers and Islanders agree to a Kreider trade.

I mean Grant has 4 or 5 inches on him and at least 15 lbs or so. Reports were saying they wanted more size and more forward depth, and reports were linking VAN to Simmonds. Because that will not work, I figured Grant's small cap hit would be a substitute. Simply guessing what will happen before end of Monday.

Neither Sjkei nor Trocheck will be moved at the deadline. Makes little sense for Panthers to give up their 2C while pushing for the playoffs, and I think NYR will not get an offer for Sjkei that will be worth it. Sjkei could certainly be dealt at the draft though.
I think NYR will ask for Studnicka but will not get him. Beecher is still a very good acquisition.
This is not what I necessarily want to happen; this is my best guess.

Newhook, Timmons, Byram all likely off the table. Maybe Kaut is the player coming back in a Kreider deal. If NYR could grab Kaut and a 1st for Kreider that would be a very good deal for NYR.
Fast deal does not look terrible but I think EDM isn't looking for a guy like him, but who knows.
Sjkei likely will not be traded at deadline. Trochek is certainly not being moved at the deadline.

could be a smoke screen but hes been pretty straight shooter when he does speak to the media. Are looking for a third goalie, he did say that. So the Rangers trading for one tonight makes it interesting</div></div>
I think every GM is going to say something similar to what he said; they want to keep everything close to their chest. They all want hockey trades if they are able to, but that's not always the case. I would not weigh his words too heavily.
Trading for Berube was likely because they were thin at goalie after NYR called up Shesterkin. I do not think it had anything to do with any of the goalies on the Rangers' current roster.

If STL were to do this, the team would have to add a prospect. De La Rose at this point is more of simply a contract going back for cap compliance sake. I think considering Tyler Madden went back in the Toffoli trade, you would have to add Kyrou to make it interesting. Otherwise, I think teams like the Bruins and Avalanche can outbid you by adding solid prospects.
Could be even more; instead of De La Rose you might give up Barbashev or Sanford just to get on other teams' playing field. Really hard to tell at this point how it will go.

On the other side of that coin though. They might have been able to swap over an JE to right and then insert Bean. OR maybe they just aren't as high on Bean as everyone (including myself. I really do like him) think. I'm a little perplexed that they haven't gone out of their way to get him more NHL ice time. At some point 5 years in Juniors and 2 year in the AHL...I'm not so sure "prospect" fits him anymore.</div></div>
He's 21, I just think they are not going to rush him if they do not have to.

CAR was looking for a RHD. Bean is a LHD. I think there could be a bigger move made, but I think it has little to do with Bean. I think CAR is loading up to make a move for someone like Kase or Palmieri. I think CAR will try to keep Bean though, and move another prospect instead in that deal (along with one of the first rounders).

When coming to moves like this, the Canes have been pretty smart in doing so.
Everyone freaked out when we pretty much traded Saarela for almost nothing, and its looking pretty good now.
Canes are clearly selling high on Gauthiers best season</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FireBotts</b></div><div>So instead of losing Georgiev or Lemieux they lose Keane/Goat? Oh no!!!!!!</div></div>
This is a very fair deal. Both have been very good in the AHL, and both team are addressing their needs. Nobody is getting a "free" defenseman or power forward. Both teams are giving up a type of asset that each team had an abundance of, and in return, they get a good type of asset they needed. The end. It's a fair deal, and a good deal for both sides.

Reporters are saying that Kreider is the more coveted asset at this deadline (for example Kreider is TSN's top trade bait for whatever that is worth). I would assume that a Kreider trade will yield at least what Toffoli yielded, likely more. I think many would agree.
