Deadline Blockbusters - EDM amp PHI

Range for 8 YR term is believed to be between $65 and $75 mil. So, either in the 8's or 9+ AAV. Still ballpark discussions." So nothing has been offered but I can tell you no one else in the league is offering him over $8 mil per to play for their team. He'll be a Sen for sure.</div></div>
Yeah I saw that, still don't think it's the best decision for the Sens but we'll see. Kypreos announced that the Sens had offered him the 8x8
* He's also still #1 on TSN trade bait board

Edmonton is three points out of a playoff spot and Chiarelli is desperate to get them in. Wouldn't normally target Philly, just threw it out there since someone else was talking about it.

Duchene can also play the wing but yeah, I didn't see the fit either, I just saw someone else speculating about it so I thought I'd play around with it. Not trying to recoup pieces as much as it is just continuing the rebuild that the Sens are now in.

Karlsson basically stated that he didn't want to be here. The other two really seem to want to stay, and I believe Dreger reported that it is more than likely that Stone stays.

They've both publicly stated that they want to resign in Ottawa. Duchene can't get any closer to home than in Ottawa and Stone has been here forever. I also think Melnyk is close to being gone.

They're working on it, but I don't think it's too close yet (side note, they offered $64M, not $75M). I still think they're way better off resigning Stone and trading Duchene, and that would also work better for Eugene's pocket, but we'll see what happens.

So maybe JP and a second for Dzingel? Basically two seconds instead of a first? Or maybe Dzingel for Yamamoto?

Fair enough. Any idea what the Flyers are looking for? Them and the Sens have been scouting each other recently, not sure if it means much...

Would love if they could get more, just trying to be conservative in the trades so not to be biased. And I certainly wouldn't call Puljujarvi a bust yet, I think he'll be a solid top 6 forward.

Plenty of UFA's fetch first round picks from contenders at the end of the year, and I think he could very well stay on pace. He's actually been spending some time on the third line as Boucher attempts to "balance the lines". Fair enough though, I will change it to a 2nd + 4th

If he stays on pace for 30 goals and 60 points, I could see a contender giving up a 1st for him at the deadline. Might not be Carolina, I just used them because they are currently in the playoff race and are looking for a top 6 forward. If not a first, then yeah a 2nd +

Hanzal is a cap dump, DAL would need to make room for Karlsson's salary. DAL would have to add more to get Ottawa to take Hanzal.

I am assuming this would only happen if they agree upon a contract beforehand. At $5M, Ryan is barely a cap dump. It might be a little hopeful to throw in both dmen, but this deal was on the verge of happening at the deadline with the same parameters but just one of the dmen; and now Vegas is a little more desperate and has the opportunity to guarantee a contract extension for Karlsson.

The deal is a bit light on the prospect end, but Ott 1st, Barrie, and maybe another piece is as much as it goes compared to Cody Glass, a pick, and Colin Miller. Dont see the big difference in value bw the 2 there</div></div>
That's the value when acquiring Ryan's contract as well. Value goes up if Ryan's no in the trade.

The big question is what will Ceci's next contract look like? I definitely don't believe he should be signed for over $4M and for 4+years, but the way Sens management seems to be enamored with him I think the potential for them to make a big mistake on $$ and term is pretty high here. You're contract for Ceci IMO is probably the most ideal outcome.</div></div>
I hope they sign De Haan, but I'm just happy as long as they sign Karlsson/Duchene/Stone at this point. Agreed, it should be a bridge contract because he hasn't proved anything yet, but management could mess up big time on that one.
