Preds probably decline since their don't really have much right side defensive depth from a similar thread I posted before free agency.

Yeah I could work with that. Especially if STL can get a good return for tarasenko to balance things out.
Really just trying to lay out how the situation can dictate the return more than the player value.

If that's the price for Miller then NSH is out. It's just too much for them to give up for one year of him.

I like a lot Joshua, but he's not insane, he's more a player that get in when there are injuries and in playoffs cuz he brings a lot of toughness

I wouldn’t trade Necas unless it’s in a package for a big name, but agree with Bear and Gardiner.
Some other players I’d add for other teams include Jonathan Toews (if salary is retained), John Gibson, Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler.

Your reasoning on the miller contract is spot on and he is a picture perfect fit in pittsburgh but there is no way hextall trades a first round pick so it wont happen

Should you really be trying to rank prospects if draft ranking is the extent of your knowledge? He was ranked in the 40-50 range midseason last year among all prospects and was somewhere around 15th for defensemen. He has progressed more and other guys have graduated since then. He's pretty easily a top 10 defenseman prospect right now.

Columbus isn't a candidate even with an extension since Jarmo isn't paying futures for players with no contract control. Without an extension it's even crazier to consider them an option at that price. Think cup contenders, not bubble teams.

Columbus declines if there’s no extension, Miller doesn’t make them a contender and I’d be very hesitant to move a 1st for when a team is coming out of a rebuild. On a side note Peeke probably isn’t available from Columbus, hes one of 4 NHL level potential RHD Columbus has.
Honestly Miller isn’t a fit for Columbus and there’s no reason to think he sign an extension with them.

Faber is probably a top-25 prospect overall and between top-5 and top-10 among dmen.
After Power, Hughes, Sanderson, Edvinsson, Clarke…he would be in that next tier.

Ur not getting Mercer for Miller. Second tier assets and 2023 1st is what Devils would be moving. Examples like Zacha, Walsh and Smith. Would be willing to part with Gritsyuk, Zetterlund, Wood, and Foote as well. Holtz, Mercer, Bratt, 2OA are off the table in these talks

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheAlien</b></div><div>You're gonna have to give up one of Bratt, Holtz, or 2OA</div></div>
I can personally guarantee you will never get that value for Miller.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>stennybro</b></div><div>just here to confirm that if that was the deal Miller takes, he'd have an extension in place with Vancouver.
And yeah, I'd like to think they would find a trade with a better center piece</div></div>
That’s fair, tbh a long term extension for Miller scares me and I think many teams as well, I don’t see him getting more than 6 years, you are probably right about him getting a higher aav though.
About the centerpiece, it’s also understandable, I think there are better are teams willing to ante up 1 or more high quality assets,I don’t see the devils being one of them though I do feel the offer I placed is fair, I still doubt it’d be the best offer Vancouver gets

Hmmm, Justin Braun UFA sign, and Miller+ sent for a top pairing RHD seems ok for next season

I'd love to ship off Carlo in a deal for JT Miller but I don't think it's that likely considering a suitable top 4 RD is hard to come by
If it were up to me I'd move him for a legit Center though

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>stennybro</b></div><div>is letang not their top priority right now? From what I understand, and I could be completely wrong, Marino has kind of fallen out of favour with the new management in PIT.</div></div>
Letang is obviously their top priority, but that's not tied to Marino in any way. Moving Marino significantly hurts the Pens defense. Ruhwedel is the man up and finding a suitable replacement is incredibly hard. If it were easy, VAN wouldn't need to trade Miller to him. Reports on how ownership feels on Marino has been mixed.

True, UFA sign one like Mayfield is an option to not lose players. But a Top 4 D man is a top priority for a trade involving Top 6 forwards

2 very very good Defencemen to play with Hughes, the most elite of all would be to send a package to get Dobson and run a career of Hughes-Dobson first pairing with drafting defencemen in the 1st rounds this year and the future till the shelf has something to contend with. OEL-Schenn solid, really hope UFA signings can provide short-term top 4 D and defensive help for the young Tim Thomas Demko. Offence with Kuzzy-Petey-Boeser solid, Podky-Horvat-Hogs/UFA?, Build a Bottom 6 from scratch
