how does targeting RHD on good, long-term deals, not make sense for the Canucks? I understand the deals may not be perfect, but it's incredibly insulting to be compared to jimbo lol
Miller for Marino, Poulin, and the 2023 1st from Pittsburgh doesn't make sense for Pittsburgh. If they're losing Malkin, they're losing Letang. Gutting the right side to improve the 2nd line center doesn't work. Marino doesn't fit the bill of what the Canucks are wanting as the roster player coming back in a potential Miller trade.
Carlo+Foligno for Garland+Myers makes 0 sense for either team. Myers and Garland are worth more than Carlo and Foligno. Myers doesn't fit with Boston over Carlo.
Pearson+Dickinson is worth more than a 4th. They're traded every other Canucks thread for scraps, while Pearson is worth a lot more than that. Dickinson is not worth the cost to move him at this point, the Canucks would be better to hold on to Dickinson through next season, give him a chance to rebound with the new coaching staff, then if he still underperforms, move him. Obviously, the trade for Detroit is a downright steal, a 4th for a 20-goal, 40-point winger, and a small-cap dump, but that's also why the trade makes no sense.
